Teresita Blanco Self Portraits Watercolor Andy Warhol and Frida Kahlo Style
Today, I wanted to show you my latest watercolor projects. I like to post my portraits in pairs. It gives the folks plenty to look at. The first painting is based on an obscure Frida Kahlo painting. Frida’s self-portraits where all about expressing herself. The originally and symbolism behind her work is the main reason why she became famous. When I was in Primary School, the art teacher gave us this assignment. She told us to mimic the style of a painter. The first painting she had us mimic was a self-portrait done Frida Kahlo style. She gave us...
Teresita Blanco Self Portrait Van Gogh and Gustav Klimt Style
Today, I wanted to show you two self-portraits I made over the weekend. In the old days, Self Portraits was a way for artists to promote themselves and their skills. In the spirit of that tradition, I made two self-portraits. The first one I made it Van Gogh style. I have a lot of similarities with Van Gogh. I came from a big family that suddenly felt like giving me the cold shoulder. I have a Theo and a nice mother to boot. My big brother Fernando is my Theo. He has been supporting my writing and my artworks since...
Hollow Knight Ants Playing Pool Arthur Sarnoff Fanart
I got around to making a new Hollow Knight parody. In this one, I am making a reference to a famous Arthur Sarnoff painting. It is called Scratched at Dawn. The wife of one of the dogs went to pick up her husband at the bar. He has been playing Pool for far too long. He has work tomorrow. The bulldog’s wife is holding up her umbrella menacingly, while she pulls at his dog ear. The other dogs at the bar are laughing. They find it amusing that such a big bulldog is getting pushed around by a poodle. ...
The Hollow Knight The Kiss Gustav Klimt Fanart
Today, I got around to making a new Hollow Knight fanart. In this one, I am referencing the Gustav Klimt painting the Kiss. It wasn’t common for artworks to feature folks kissing. Kisses belonged to the realm of intimacy. It wasn’t something that was considered proper for a painter to paint. Klimt worked during a time when the Salon was repressing all types of new art. Painters either painted like the old masters, or their work wasn’t featured in the Salon. IF your work wasn’t featured in the Salon, you didn’t sell. Klimt’s financial situation gave him the freedom to...
Hollow Knight Van Eyck Arnolfini Portrait Fanart
Today, I made a new Hollow Knight fanart. After looking through a bunch of famous paintings, I decided to do a reference to a famous Van Eyck Painting called the Arnolfini Portrait or Wedding. This painting is famous because of all the small details in the portrait. The original shows a couple in their bedchamber. They are about to consummate their union. Both are barefooted as shown by the shoes scattered about the bedroom. The wife is in the process of raising her skirt, to show her willingness to reproduce with her husband. There is a mirror in the middle...
