Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema Romantic Dutch Painting
Tadema was a British romantic painter. When he was young he suffered a terrible illness. Since he was so fragile, his family allowed him to spend his time painting and drawing. As such, he developed his artwork. His early paintings focused on Egypt and some historical subjects. Later, he switched to Greek historical scenery paintings. Rivière was an English painter. He learned his art at the Oxford University. His father used to teach drawing at the school. He first showed his artwork in the British Institutions. Reggianini was an Italian painter. He mostly specialized in painting middle class scenes. I choose to review him because of the dresses of his girls. I find delightful the shinny look of their dress. Guillaume Seignac was a french classical painter. When everyone was doing impressionism, he submitted Greek classical works. He made his fame in the Salon of the Venuses.
