Artsy Sister is Back from the Mexican Vacation
I have not posted in over a week because I was on vacation in Cancun with my family. You can expect a lot of blogs related to my vacation in the near future. For now, this is just a small morsal of what it is to come. I came. I saw. I ate. My blogs are going to be a combination of foodie, sightseeing tours and hotel visits. For now, I am just sorting through all the information. My name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye and God bless.
Cantina Catrina in Dadeland Mall Foodie Restaurant Review
Last weekend, we ate at Cantina Catrina. We always pass by that restaurant whenever we go out shopping. After reading the menu, we finally got curious enough to go eat at this Mexican restaurant. The first thing worth mentioning is the look of the place. It is themed after Dia de Los Muertos. It has a lot of fun skull decorations. In the front of the store, there is a statue of Catrina’s ghost, welcoming you to her Cantina. Her skull form has a bit of a Frida Kahlo vibe. I would imagine that this is what Frida looks like...
Islamorada Highlights and Wahoo Revisited
Today, we woke up in a traveling mood. The day was just too beautiful spend it indoors. So, we got in the car and we drove to Wahoo Bar and Grill in Islamorada. Along the way, we took in the sights and sounds. When I say that we drove there, I mean that my mother drove there. She is always the one who drives the car. She gets tense when my brother drives the car. So, if we are all together in the same vehicle, she insists on driving. There was a bit of traffic in the middle of the...
Cheesecake Factory Revisited Review Foodie Weekend
This weekend we went to the Cheesecake Factory in Dadeland Mall. We wanted to get mother her Mother’s Day present early. So, we figured that we might as well eat in one of our favorite restaurants. It had been a bit of a while since last we visited. By removing alcoholic drinks, it didn’t make it to the 200 bucks. The food there is something that we would consider a tad expensive. It is a good thing that we do not eat out so often. We like to reserve it for at least once a week. If we don’t get...
Flanigan’s Seafood and Bar Grill Restaurant Foodie Review
This weekend I went to Flanigan’s with my family. It had been a while since we ate a restaurant. I have been trying to eat at different places. Variety is the spice of life. We went a little early because we were starving. Despite arriving early, there was a bit of a line. We could have sat immediately outside, but we wanted to eat inside the restaurant. It was a little too windy, and chilly to eat in the outdoors. The waitress we got was attentive, and good natured. We ordered garlic breads and mozzarella sticks as appetizers. Both were...
