Barcelo Maya Palace Statues and Statuettes
It has been a while since I blogged about the Barcelo Maya Palace. I haven’t been outside the house much. So, I figured I would reminisce about the last big vacation I took. I still have a bunch of photos that I have yet to post. So, I figured that now would be a good a times as any to post them. The first couple of pictures featured some cool large statues. I thought that they looked nice. So, I wanted to show them to you. There were also a few pictures of smaller figurines. They...
Xcaret Travel Photos Tourism
I wanted to rant about Xcaret Park. It is fun to look at one’s travel photos to remember. This Christmas we are going to be staying at home. The weather and other circumstances do not permit us from going far. Plus, I am in a cozy type of mood. I have everything I need at home. So, there isn’t a big incentive to go out and explore. It probably has something to do with the lockdowns. Folks just got used to being at home all the time. Not that I was a big adventurer back in the day. ...
Cantina Catrina Revisited Foodie Restaurant
Last week, we were in a taco type of mood. So, we went to Cantina Catrina in Dadeland Mall. This restaurant is themed after Dia de lost Muertos. It has a lot of colorful skull people figurines in key locations. I took a photo of their décor for you to admire. At the end of the day, the food is the most important thing to seek in a restaurant. We got a chip appetizer. My mother had a margarita and my brother a Virgin Pina Colada. I had a soda. I ordered Quesadillas, and my family had tacos....
Xcaret Beach Tourism Travel Cancun Mexico
Today, I wanted to write a little blog about my visit to Xcaret Beach. It isn’t like an official type of place. Rather, it is the beach area of the Xcaret park. You first run into a place filled with sands and chairs. This isn’t the official beach area per say. It is just a cool place to hang out. You can take photographs in the overgrown chair and hammocks. There is also a cool statue of two flamingos forming a cute little heart shape. From this area, you get a cool view of the ocean beyond. If you...
Xcaret Maya Cemetery Cancun Mexico
Today, I wanted to write about my visit to Xcaret. More specifically, I wanted to focus on my impression of the Maya Cemetery. It is odd to treat a cemetery as a tourist destination. Regardless, there you have it. I didn’t linger much in the place. It had a creepy vibe about it. Then again, most cemeteries are rather creepy, and possibly haunted. I first visited this cemetery a few years ago. It was before the pandemic. There were a lot fewer graves. This time it seemed a little more crowded. At night, the place looked extra spooky....
