Art Student BJD Doll Photoshoot
Today, I wanted to do a simple bjd doll photoshoot. I decided to make it art themed. Here, you can see my Bebe doll with some of my paintings. Her dress is Dollmore. I was using my legit paintings for some of the background props. I also added some nesting dolls that I painted a while back. The palette and the brush are the things I use to develop watercolor painting. All in all, I was trying to convey an artist studio type of feel. I just didn’t want to make her a regular student. That would...
My Three Favorite Landscape Painters
Today, I wanted to write a little art blog about my three favorite landscape painters. I wanted to do more, but I really don’t like landscape painting that much. Before photographs, landscape paintings were the only way to capture the beauty of nature. There are two types of landscape painters. I am not saying that one type is better than the other. There is the landscape painter that shows nature as it is. And then, there are the landscape painters that show an idealized form of nature. Both kinds have their own merits, but I am not here to have...
Artsy Sister's Top 5 Favorite Painters
Today, I wanted to write about my favorite painters. Every artist has a favorite painter or two. My favorite painters may not be the same as yours. One’s favorite painter is a reflection of what we consider good art. They also represent what type of art we aspire to create. Without any more preambles, I am going to list my five favorite painters, and the reasons why I find their art so appealing. I chose five painters because there is not one particular artist that I consider the best that there ever was. I like the artworks of these painters...
Hollow Knight American Gothic Parody
I recently finished drawing a new Scary Cat volume. I decided to relax by drawing a fanart of one of my favorite games. IT is easy to draw Hollow Knight characters due to their simple design, and unique charm. I chose American Gothic as the theme. I thought that it would be fun to do an art parody using Hollow Knight characters. The drawing was made with markers and coloring pencils. I added the side-by-side comparison for you to see what the original looks like. This is just for the folks not familiar with this famous painting. This is Teresita...
Artsy Sister Visits the Miami Van Gogh Exhibit
This Saturday I visited the Van Gogh Exhibit. The Exhibit took place in the Gusman Center in 174 E Flagler St. Getting to the venue was an interesting experience, in it of itself. The street in front of the Gusman Center was being repaired. We had to park a block away in order to make it to the exhibit. In Miami, they are always destroying and reconstructing streets. Even with a GPS, you still get lost because Google doesn’t know which streets are being blocked. Enough about the driving situation. The interior of the building had a lot of beautiful...
