Six Pouring Paintings Abstract Acrylic Art
Today, I wanted to show you my latest pouring paintings. I took two photographs of these paintings. One of the photos features the painting wet, and the other dry. The first photographs show the dry paintings. They are the finished version of my artworks. I frankly like better the paintings when they are wet. Acrylics always tend to dry in darker hues. So, it is always better to work with bright colors. They will eventually turn darker once the paint dries. I am almost out of pouring paints. I haven’t bought any acrylics in a while. I also used...
Butterflies on Mexican Sunflowers Watercolor Paintings
I did two watercolor paintings featuring Mexican Sunflowers. These little sunflowers attract a bunch of different butterflies to my garden. I reworked two photographs into the paintings you see above. The first shows the Sunflower in full bloom. The second painting shows that even a withered flower still attracts butterflies. In fact, the withered flower had more butterflies than the fresh flower. I do not know what that is all about. The first butterfly I think it might be a Tiger Swallow Tail Butterfly. It is a male one to be more specific about it. The three other butterflies are...
Watercolor Cityscape Travel Paintings: Roatan, Key West and Cartagena
Today, I wanted to show you three distinct landscape paintings. They are based on travel photographs. Before the plague, I used to travel about the Caribbean at least once a year. These days it is rare that I go out of the house to a restaurant. I am not going to bog you down with the current state of the world. I just want to show you these nice watercolor paintings. They are not meant to be perfect mimicries of the photographs. Rather, I just used them for inspirations to produce landscape paintings. The first one is a cityscape of...
Hialeah Savannah Apartment Watercolor Painting
Today, I was in the mood to paint a cityscape. After looking through my photos, I settled on this one. The place I chose to paint has a special meaning to me. I lived in the Savannah apartments for almost 15 years. It is the longest I have ever lived in any place. I tend to dream about that place from time to time. It wasn’t the best place to live, but it wasn’t terrible either. It was vanilla. Vanilla is good. We ended up moving because we outgrew the place. We were no longer small brats, and we needed...
Five Pouring Paintings: Rainbow Dutch, Gold Swipe, Red Puddle
I finally got around to showing you my finished pouring paintings. Pouring paintings are a good way of expressing your creative chaos. It is also perfect for recycling your old paints. Instead of throwing them away, you can just add medium to the mix to turn them into pouring paint. I have experimented a lot with various mediums. I used a little bit of Liquitex, Floetral, and Mont Marte Pouring medium. I also added a bit of silicone oil to the mix. Just a single droplet helps create all the cells that you want, without a torch. The problem...
