art, landscape, painting, watercolor -

Today, I wanted to show you three distinct landscape paintings. They are based on travel photographs. Before the plague, I used to travel about the Caribbean at least once a year. These days it is rare that I go out of the house to a restaurant. I am not going to bog you down with the current state of the world. I just want to show you these nice watercolor paintings. They are not meant to be perfect mimicries of the photographs. Rather, I just used them for inspirations to produce landscape paintings. The first one is a cityscape of...

Today, I was in the mood to paint a cityscape. After looking through my photos, I settled on this one. The place I chose to paint has a special meaning to me. I lived in the Savannah apartments for almost 15 years. It is the longest I have ever lived in any place. I tend to dream about that place from time to time. It wasn’t the best place to live, but it wasn’t terrible either. It was vanilla. Vanilla is good. We ended up moving because we outgrew the place. We were no longer small brats, and we needed...

I finally got around to showing you my finished pouring paintings. Pouring paintings are a good way of expressing your creative chaos. It is also perfect for recycling your old paints. Instead of throwing them away, you can just add medium to the mix to turn them into pouring paint. I have experimented a lot with various mediums. I used a little bit of Liquitex, Floetral, and Mont Marte Pouring medium. I also added a bit of silicone oil to the mix. Just a single droplet helps create all the cells that you want, without a torch.   The problem...

Today, I was in the mood to make a painting parody, using Hollow Knight characters. I chose an easily recognizable painting: The Girl with a Pearl Earring by Jan Vermeer. Hornet seemed like the perfect character to embody this maiden. Both have a certain fragility about them, but also a source of inner strength. It was interesting reworking the turban for her horns. I figured that it would coil around both horns, instead of making it a solid piece. The final thing was adding the shine of the fabrics and the earring.   I had to match the shading of...

Today, I wanted to show you some nice acrylic pouring paintings that I made. Each painting features a unique pouring method. I like to keep things quite varied. My paints are a weird mix of everything. Whenever I am almost done with an old paint tube, I throw it inside a ketchup bottle. I add some pouring medium, and then it is good to go. The paintings look big, but the canvases are actually pretty small. This is noticeable in the Tiktok videos I made of my new pouring paintings. They are also in Youtube, if you are interested in...
