Tiger Longwing Butterfly, Siproeta stelenes and Others Watercolor Art
Today, I wanted to show you my latest watercolor butterfly paintings. I try to paint two of these watercolor paintings per week. It is a nice change of pace from my regular art projects. In the background, I am working on the latest Scary Cat Children’s Book and the Sacred Mask 5. Both take time to develop. For now, I am going to focus on my new watercolor paintings. All these butterflies can be seen in the Butterfly Preserve of Key West. I do not think they are native butterflies to Florida. I was only able to find the names...
Priam’s Birdwing Butterfly and Others Watercolor Painting
It is so difficult to identify butterflies when you only have a photograph to work with. It was easy for me to guess what they were if I photographed them in the wild. The ones you see in these two watercolor paintings were photographed in the Key West Butterfly preserve. They are not native to Florida, but the preserve provides them with all the flowers they need to live long and prosper. I originally started painting one type of butterfly at a time. In the second painting, I showed you two. These butterflies all live in the same butterfly preserve,...
Floral Kendall Photography Roses, and so Much More
If I see a flower, I am compelled to photograph it. I never get tired of photographing flowers. They are ephemeral. You will never see the same flower twice. Of course, the way to tell flowers apart is to have a photographic record of all the flowers you have ever ran into. Most of my floral photography takes place in my garden. I have a couple of rose bushes and a papaya tree. I used to have more variety, but times are trying. I have been working more on my books and my art. For this reason, I have neglected...
The Life of a Yellow Rose Watercolor Painting
Today, I was in the mood to paint a floral painting. In the old days, I used to make these simple paintings with acrylics. This time I did it on watercolor paper. I have been painting with watercolors a lot, as of lately. I feel more confident working with the medium. Normally, I just make cityscapes or landscapes with watercolors. This time I wanted to paint flowers. First, I drew the roses with a pencil. I created the shapes starting in the middle. Trust me, with roses, it is always better to start drawing in the center. I drew the...
Ballerina Odette in Rose Red Dress BJD Photoshoot
Today, I did a photoshoot of my ballerina doll in a pretty red dress. I took about 35 photos of my lovely bjd doll. I fluffed up the bottom of her skirt in order to give it more volume. Odette was made by Dollmore. The outfit belongs to my Dearmine bjd cat doll. It is fun to see which doll can wear this pretty red outfit. Once the doll was dressed, all that remained was getting the set ready for her photoshoot. I used my two of my handkerchiefs for background elements. The butterflies and the flowers worked well...
