Today I wanted to show you some of my new little plants. I have been making the effort to grow them from seeds. The ones shown in this photo are all sour oranges. I am also working on a mango seed.

There is also a small garlic that we got in the Publix. Mother had used most of it. The remainder I planted to see if it would grow back, and it did. I planted it directly in the dirt, and it is doing just fine. As for the seeds, I started growing them on the cotton.

Every so often I added a little bit of water to it. Eventually, they started to look like actual plants. I eventually decided to move them to dirt when I saw that some of them started to dry up.

The cotton was growing some fungi. I think even the roots started to whiter away. It is all just having to do with ground rot syndrome. I have also been trying to grow some strawberries from seeds. They have not been inspiring much confidence lately.

Normally, I would take a bit of a break on the weekends. Since I was not doing anything inspiring in particular, I decided to just add a little blog for the weekend. The roses are coming nicely.

It is all thanks to the herbicide and the deadheading. Some bugs were attacking the yellow and red rose bushes. For herbicide, I just did a little bit of soapy water. It took care of the problem.

Still, I have to keep an eye on it to prevent the bad bugs from returning. The rosehips are ripening rather nicely. Soon, I will be able to harvest the hips to develop the new rose seeds.

I am still reading around the edges how to go about it. Florida doesn’t get winter so, I am thinking about how to simulate it. I suppose I could have the seeds indoor, during the winter to simulate the experience.
