Today, I wanted to show you my latest pouring painting. It was done with neon colors provided by Gencrafts.
I am going to post a photo of the acrylic set I used to make the painting. I am a big fan of unconventional colors.
I find it boring that paints use traditional colors. I like this set because it has Barbie pink. Getting that nice strong, pink hue is a bit of a bother to mix.
So, it is convenient that this set already has the Barbie Pink color already mixed. The first thing I did was prepare my wood panel.
I have been using wood panels for my pouring paintings. The smooth wood just allows the paints to flow extremely easy.
This helps me save on paint supplies, because it doesn’t take much paint to completely cover the wood.
Once the gesso dried, it was time to use the paints. The paints flowed pretty easily.
I didn’t need to add pouring medium into the paint bottles. I started with a pouring paint strainer.
I wanted to create a nice psychedelic floral pattern. Once I applied enough paint, I blew on it with a straw to get the rest of the paint out of the strainer.
I removed the strainer before tilting the panel left and right. I repeated this process until the paint completely covered the wood panel.
I was careful with this process in order to keep the flower in the middle. Once the painting was completed, I took a few photographs.
I like to have dry photos and wet photos of my acrylic paintings. As the painting dries, the artwork experiences changes as the paint settles.
The difference between the wet and dry and version was within acceptable parameters.
You can hardly tell the difference between one and the other. In any case, I think I ranted enough about my new pouring painting.
My name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye and God bless.
