I wanted to do a book blog instead. So, I decided to tell you about some great short story writers. Not a lot of readers have patience or time for novels. This is why Short stories are so important.

At times, it is harder to write a short story, than a long novel. Enough of that. Let us talk about the writers. The first one worth mentioning is Stefan Zweig. His short stories are a mixture of romance, mystery and even a murder thriller.

Unamuno’s stories do not rely on description. Even his longer works end pretty quickly, cause he doesn’t need to go nuts with the setting and description. Borges’s short stories are mystery and comedy.

I like best his story about the South. A mild anachronism ruins a person’s life. Horacio Quiroga has plenty of blood in his stories. It is ideal for folks who like to see the crime scene described in great detail.

HP Lovecraft is horror. I like his short stories better than his longer works. Hans Christian Andersen is the fairy tale guy. Most of them end in tragedy. Gustavo Adolfo Becque’s short stories and novella are Gothic horror.

They are pretty atmospheric. Graham Greene is a little bit more down to earth, but his short stories are engaging. Franz Kafka wrote something else beside Metamorphosis. Be ready to check it out.

The last short story writer worth mentioning is Poe. He needs no introduction. If you don’t know Poe, well, he writes horror stories. I think I ranted enough about the works of my favorite short story writers.

Nothing else needs to be said about them. If you want more information, you can check out my Artsy Sister Youtube Channel. I did a video blog about them.
