Halloween is just around the corner. So, I wanted to show you 20 spooky paintings. The first one features a water sprite by Theodor Kittelsen. The painting is called Noekken.

I like the ambience of it. The second drawing is by Albrecht Durer. It features a scene from the apocalypse. The angel looks pretty trippy. Arnold Bocklin is the next featured painter.

He painted war or the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. Caspar Friedrick painted a creepy monastery ruins. Most of his paintings feature creepy nature. Danter Rosetti did doublegangers.

His work is called How they met themselves. It was believed that seeing your double was a bad omen. Gustave Dore did a vision of death. Harry Clark did a cool drawing of the Masque of the Red Death by Poe.

Ivan Aivazovsky did a nice night beach seascape. It looks kinda haunted. Ivan Kramskoy painted Tamara and the Demon. It is a doomed romance between two individuals.

When Tamara kisses the demon, she dies and she goes to heaven. The demon is left alone, unable to join her. Johann Hansenclever painted a couple awoken in the middle of the night.

If you look in the corner, you see the cat making noises. Henri Fuseli painted a nightmare. There is an incubus sitting on top of a dormant maiden. The previous artwork is a witch painting a magic circle.

It is by John William Waterhouse. He has plenty of fun medieval looking paintings. Kay Neilsen did a drawing of one of the many stories of Cinderella. She has a skull lantern. Munch painted his social anxiety.

Rene Magritte did a weird version of Manet’s Balcony. He replaced the humans with coffins. The sitting coffin makes me smile. Lawrance Tadema painted a flood. The cat is freaking out.

Since it makes me laugh, I added it to the mix. Goya painted what types of monsters are summon when your reason goes to sleep. It is a nightmare flavor type of painting.

He has hundreds of drawings like this one. Thomas Copper painted a birthday with creepy red lanterns. Wojtek Siudmak painted a blue maiden with her inner turmoil. She is fighting her own demons.

Zdislav Beksinski is the final creepy painter. All his artworks are nightmare fuel. I hope you find this spooky painter blog amusing. My name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye and God bless.
