This is my latest acrylic painting. As of lately, I have been feeling like doing acrylic paintings. I wanted to decorate my room a bit. This is one of the last paintings done on a small canvas. The photo pixel data is larger than the actual painting. As before, I painted her by drawing first on the canvas.

I then painted over the pencil lines with acrylics. I am always mimicking the process I use to do perfect linearts. Coloring inside the black lines makes it easier to paint. It does nothing to harm the final result of the painting. As of now, this is the last Alice painting. I am going to now paint stand alone paintings.

I am working now on a painting on a larger canvas. It is taking a little longer to complete. Still, people do spend months in single paintings. I do not have a lot of patience for long projects. This is part of the reason why I have not tried to make oil paintings. I hear that it is a forgiving medium, but I am not a patient fellow.

I prefer watercolor and paintings. Each one offers its own usefulness. With acrylic, I can work with solid colors. Watercolors allow me to do shading a lot easier. It blends in well with my pencil skills. Acrylics are a bit annoying around the edges. Still, they are interesting to use.

I am still in the training stage as far as acrylic paintings are concerned. The white I put beneath the main drawing allows me to do highlights easily. I tried it a bit with this painting, and the dress came out looking fly. I also added a bit of matte varnish. I am not too certain about it. It tends to dull a bit the glitter.

Still, it does what it is supposed to in less time. Once I use it up, I am going to buy glossy varnish again. With my newest painting, I ended up using up all my lamp black paint. It was a good thing I ended up getting a new lamp black bottle. I always run out of both titanium white and lamp black.

I have been desiring to end up using certain art supplies. I am a bit cheap around the edges. If the art supplies are good, I will use it. After many years, I am still using the same mechanical pencils, with HB lead. It just works really well for me. Once you get used to something, it is hard to change to something that people say is better.

If you produce quality work, then you should use whatever works for you. Still, it is always fun to try new things. As before, I ended up putting glitter into the painting. I just think it makes it a bit more fun around the edges. Anyhow, I hope you like this painting a lot.
