This is my latest painting and the like. I had a few canvas panels and the like. I decided to finally try painting on a canvas and I must stay that it was a bit different. I do not know if there is something wrong with my canvas or what, but it was somewhat annoying. Still, I pushed on, and then I was able to produce something of worth. All commercial canvases come with gesso, so they are ready to paint. The surface of this canvas was a little blocky, so, when I added the paint, it looked a bit weird. I muscled through this and ended up making a finished work. I was a bit bored of regular drawings, so I felt like making a nice acrylic painting. It took like two days in order to complete it. I first drew the line art with pencil. I then added black acrylic over the pencil lines. It was at this moment when I first noticed the main issue. The lines were coming out a bit weird. I had to move the canvas around a lot in order to get it right. Even after I had concluded with the main lines, I decided to change the background. I added a checker board pattern.

The background I chose it to be a prison in the US, with the exception of the floor. The colors in Alice’s dress is typical colors of prison uniforms in the US.  The shape itself, is nothing too far out there. The canvas panel is really small. As such, I could not fill it with a lot of small details and the like. It would have swallowed the final result.  I did include a couple of details here and there. I did have the white rabbit, a couple of cards and some butterflies. I also included a little joke in the corner as well. After the line art itself was done, I started adding the color. I normally draw from top to bottom. I start with the top portion of the painting, and then work my way down. It is a bit like a printer. I do it like so, because I have the bad habit of painting like the way I draw, a bit too close to the canvas.

Once I got to the end of the painting, I added a bit of Varnish, with glitter mixed into it. The last thing I drew was the eyes of the maiden. When I added the varnish, I did not wait enough for the acrylics to dry. As such, I caused a little tear drop to appear in the face. I ended leaving the tear, since it seemed interesting. It was what they call a happy accident. I think it was Bob Ross who used to say happy accident. The entire color arrangement for the most part was done without mixing colors. I find color mixing to be a tad annoying and wasteful, so I avoid it as much as possible. I only use the white paint, in order to make the colors brighter, and the black paint to darken it. So, this is why my colors look as so. As for the walls, my old apartment had the same color arrangement, which made the place look darker than what they should be. Ever since then, we have not bothered to paint the walls on the house. If the walls are white, they stay so. It makes the houses easier to resell. Most people think they are going to live in a place forever, but nothing is ever permanent. Still ,it is all going to be quite dandy. Well, this is just about it about this anime drawing.

The entire set was done with my US art supply set. The set came with the canvas and the acrylic paints. I also bought a bit of glitter from the same company. I used it to decorate the shoes, the butterflies and the costume of the white rabbit. The white paint I got from Daler Rowney. I had run out of acrylic white paint, and I decided to get a large amount of it. The varnish is from Liquitex. Most people do not Varnish Acrylics, but it is real useful and the like. It keeps the paints protected. I hope you find this information useful.
