This is another one of my anime drawings. I missed posting one of the blogs because I was in a mini vacation. My family and I went to Eden Rock to stay for a day. They gave us something that could be called an upgrade. Basically, they moved us from the Eden Rock to the Nobu. The Nobu actually has the sign of the Eden Rock. When they swapped the accommodations, it seemed like it was too much trouble to change the signs. We arrived around 2 pm. We would have left sooner, but mom was feeling a bit sleepy, so she took a nap. We also ate a bit before going to the hotel. We were trying to keep the expenses a bit low. Anyhow, the first thing we did was a take a dip in the pool. My brother and my mom decided to order a couple of drinks. I abstained from it. From my experience, pool drinks tend to cost an arm and a leg. Indeed, it was a bit too expensive. Just a single coconut, was worth 22 bucks. The last time we went there, the coconuts were 17 and even then we found it to be expensive.
I suppose it was before Irma occurred. Most hotels get their main source of money via drinks. Some things cannot be helped. While there, my mother and my brother finally went into the beach. They got that silly itch off their back. At least for a while, they will not be making a big deal about returning to the ocean. When the night fell, we decided to just stay in the bedroom. The night was rather windy and I saw the moon too. It looked beautiful with the clouds passing by. We saw a couple of bad Indiana Jones movies. I also saw the last scenes of the Phantom Thread. I do not know why people think it is Oscar worthy or whatever. I thought it was one of the most boring movies I have ever seen. The TV they offered there was Direct TV. It held up nicely, despite having a couple of clouds.
In the old days, whenever cloud would pass by the signal would die. These days TV has plenty of other issues. The Indiana Jones movie had commercials. I must say they have gotten carried away with the commercial nonsense. For every 5 minutes of movie, we saw like 7 minutes of commercials. To pass the time, I ended up reading two books. They were not too long. The books were written by Unamuno. He is not too well known in the English world. He was a journalist, a poet, a playwriter and a novelist. He invented the Existentialism genre. From time to time, he dabbled in magic realism. Magic realism is different from Fantasy. While Fantasy has magic all up in your face, magic realism has a bit more class. Magic occurs incidentally, not as something that is always there.
A good example is 100 years of Solitude. The book should already be translated to English. You should check it out. I personally only like the first half of the book, and it is a really long, reading, but it at least has some humor along the way. Lately, I have a preference for reading in Spanish, instead of in English. For some reason, all the English writers feel like they insist upon themselves. They take forever to get nowhere. I prefer Spanish literature, but I write in English. It makes you think, don’t you think? Then again, reading and writing are two different things. Reading is for leisure, writing is for creative stuff. As of now, I am still waiting a bit for more of my artsy gifts to arrive. Most of them got home, because they were from Amazon Prime. I have gotten into the habit of buying from there.
I first look through the stuff in my website, and then I buy it in Amazon. The main issue with searching on that other site, are the paid sports. In Amazon, if you pay them, they will prioritize your product. This make sit annoying when you are looking for a specific brand. Well, this is more or less enough. Well, let us move right along with the drawing. The drawing features a maiden in a German dress. The pens I used where Staedtler and Morris Bamboo. I drew the line art with my Royal and Langnickel pencil. I then erased the pencil with my Pentel eraser. The coloring pencils I a Derwent pencil, and an Art 101 pencil. I hope you find this information useful.
