This is my newest anime drawing featuring an unusual musical instrument. This one is called the autoharp. The autoharp has the unique ability to play chords.

By pressing the buttons on the front, you can mute all, but the strings you want to play. There is plenty of debate as to who invented the autoharp.

Two different German inventors patented the autoharp, around the same time 1883. One was called Charles F. Zimmermann.

He patented in the US in 1882. The other fellow was Karl August Gutter. He panted his autoharp in 1883, in the UK. The one that most folks use today is the one invented by Gutter.

Any typical autoharp has 3 octaves of ranges, and can play from F2 to C6 scales. They usually have 36 strings. So, there is plenty to work with if you are clever with your tuning.

The instrument can played both as a melodic or as a rhythmic instrument. Most autoharp players use to use it as a rhythmic instruments. Most of the notable players of the autoharp use it in folk music.

The most famous of the lot is Kilby Snow, a virtuoso. He was adept with the instrument since the age of 5. Since he was left handed, he was able to play the instrument in a unique fashion.

The instrument is still alive and well. It was most recently used by KatieJane Garside, in her album Geiger Counter. So, if you are looking for a unique type of string for your music, then you should definitely give the autoharp a chance.

Aside from my new pencil drawing, there is not much going on in my ordinary world. I made a new stop motion doll video. It will probably be out by tomorrow. I also ordered a new doll.

She will either arrive tomorrow, in a month, or in two months. It is one of those it is going to get here, when it gets here scenarios. With any luck, I am going to be there when the package arrives.

Let us keep those fingers cross. Then again, it is not as if I get out of the house much these days. The most interesting thing I did last week was buy some strawberry plants and some onions as well.
