The Khene is a Laos mouth organ. It is the main instrument used in traditional Cambodian dances. The instrument is made out of reeds. Each set is tuned after a particular musical key. Once the pipes are placed into the flute part, it cannot be changed. As you may know, I from time to time like to make drawings of musical instruments.
I want to illustrated as many different kinds of instruments as possible. I do not like to limit myself to just Western Classical Music instruments. I think people should try out other instruments that are not just the piano or the guitar. I think this is enough information about this musical instrument. The drawing itself was made on Leda Art Supply paper.
The pencils I used were Derwent. The pens are Pigma Micron and Stabilo. I hope you find this information useful. I have been a little bit bored with the sameness of everything. All the days are now running together. In the old days, the monotony was broken by going out to eat. At other times, we even saw a silly show. Last Xmas, we went to see the Nutcracker.
I know it was for lil kids, but mom wanted to see the ballet. It was real cute. I wish I could have taken photos. The dance poses would have served as good drawing references. I guess I will just have to rely on old paintings. Even those paintings can get stale after a while.
Most of the poses tend to be Greek classical. You see one, and then you see them all. Totally not fun at all. Anyhow, I think this is enough of my nonsense. I am still brainstorming my birthday present. I have about three more months to get one. Hopefully, things will get a little better.
