The tuba is a relatively common musical instrument. Still, not a lot of folks say that they want to be a Tuba player when they grow up. In music class, there is usually the court appointed tuba player.

Most folks just become reluctant tuba player as all. This is at least what I have seen back when I was in public school. I don’t remember ever seeing a fellow play the Tuba with an expression of joy.

Most folks just want the violin, the guitar or the piano. Still, it is not so bad. You can use this instrument to wake up the neighbors. It doesn’t need a microphone to be heard a mile away.

Now for a bit of history. The tuba is the lowest instrument of the brass family. It first appeared in the middle of the 19th century. It was designed for the modern day orchestras.

The item was patented in 1770 by Wilhem Wieprecht and Johann Moritz. This instrument had about five valves. That tuba could play in low harmonic series. During those days, it was a popular musical instruments.

Lots of composers used to make music specifically for the tuba. Today, in orchestras there is usually only one tuba. In marching bands, there is usually more.

These days the tuba only gets a serious treatment among Jazz players. Most Jazz bands usually have a tuba player or two. It was quite popular in New Orleans. It was made popular among Jazz player by Louis Armstrong.

So, if you are a struggling tuba player keep all this information in mind. If you are not having luck with classical music, you can always join a jazz band. As for the drawing of mine, it was made with fine liner pens. I hope you find this maiden amusing.
