This is the last of my series of drawings featuring maidens playing musical instruments. I need to get around to brainstorming a new series of cute little practice drawings.
I am still working on my pose practice sketches. This is just about what you can expect in the future as far as drawing blogs are concerned. I might also do some new fashion dress drawings.
Now, it is time to learn about the violin. The violin is also known as the fiddle. The highest quality version of all violins was made by Stradivarius. Such instruments usually sell for a couple of million bucks.
The instrument was developed from the rebab, that was introduced to Europe in the 9th century by Arabs. The violin as it is known today made its appearance in Northern Italy, around the 1530s.
The violin proved to extremely popular among street musicians and the nobility. The French King Charles IX ordered Andrea Amati to make him 24 violins. The oldest surviving violin belonged to King Charles IX.
Since its inception, the violin has always been famous. Even today, it still gets played by both classical and pop music artists. It has made an appearance in almost every known genre of music.
The most famous of all violinist composers was Paganini, so check him out if you want to listen to good violin music. I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about the violin. This is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, Bye and God bless.
