Today, I wanted to do a simple bjd doll photoshoot. I decided to make it art themed.
Here, you can see my Bebe doll with some of my paintings. Her dress is Dollmore. I was using my legit paintings for some of the background props.
I also added some nesting dolls that I painted a while back. The palette and the brush are the things I use to develop watercolor painting.
All in all, I was trying to convey an artist studio type of feel. I just didn’t want to make her a regular student.
That would be boring. I chose for her the purple wig. It seemed like something an art student would wear.
Every so often, I changed the background paintings. All that was left was to pose the doll. I did your standard standing, sitting and portrait photographs.
I think she ended up looking rather cute. The paints in the photograph are all dry. This is to avoid staining the doll.
The hands of the doll are closed in a certain way that makes gripping the paint brush easily.
I already have a new bjd doll photoshoot planned. It is fun to change up the outfits of the dolls every so often.
It keeps the photoshoots fresh and original. Aside from playing with dolls, I made a new watercolor painting.
I have gotten into the habit of doing one watercolor painting per week.
It is ideal for variety’s sake. It is important to strive for variety in order to maintain one’s peace of mind.
I saw a stupid shark movie yesterday. You see one, you see them all.
I only wish that they would use other sea creatures for horror movies.
Killer whales are fun. They like to play with their food and they naturally camouflage against the darkness of the ocean.
I am just saying that there is an untapped market for other types of “evil” marine creatures.
Well, I ranted enough nonsense for one day.
I hope that this photoshoot inspires you to create works of art.
Even if you never become a famous artist, or even a moderately successful one.
You can at least get the satisfaction that one gets from completing a painting.
That satisfaction is priceless.
It is the only thing that keeps me producing art and books.
Think of it as drawing, for drawing’s sake.
Anyhow, this is the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye and God bless.
