The story of the little mermaid has been popular since its inception. The original story was written by Hans Christian Anderson. It was about a mermaid who fell in love with a human. Since the story was written, it has been used in plays and in movies. This is a ballerina costume for one of the mermaids. She has her hair short because she gave it to the sea witch.

She gave the hair to the witch to get a dagger for her sister. Her sister had to kill the human she loved to turn into a mermaid. It's one of those sad, depressing story of those old days. It is not about love, but a Christian metaphor for the value of a soul. The mermaid is still working to earn her soul to be at least in death with the man she loves.

Mermaids are more or less immortal, and ageless. This is due to the fact that they do not have a soul. When they acquire a soul, they become mortal. Such is the popular belief of people in the old days. Then again, it is common for humans to look down on anything and everything that is not like them. This is my long winded way of saying that everything has a soul.
