Today, arrived my Barbie Teresa doll. Teresa is Barbie’s Latina friend.
She was called Latina back when the doll was first introduced.
These days she would be called Lantix or Hispanic. As a Cuban Hispanic, I prefer to be called Cuban…or Teresita.
I am an individual not a country or an ethnicity.
I got my first Teresa doll from my father.
He had traveled to the US on a supply run.
When he returned, he came back goodies.
This included my first Barbie doll. He got her because she had the name Teresa, and my name is Teresita.
After I got out of the hospital, I felt the desire to rebuild my Barbie collection.
It is impossible to reacquire all the Barbies I used to have back in the old country.
They were lost to the sands of time. So, I am just looking for their modern-day equivalents.
This is where the Teresa doll comes in. This signature Barbie isn’t explicitly called Teresa.
She is just called Brunette Barbie. Still, anyone half familiar with the Barbie dolls knows that the Brunette, Hispanic looking doll is called Teresa.
The doll came with 3 outfits and a doll stand. For accessories, she had shoes, a handbag and a cellphone.
I already lost the cellphone. So, do not expect to see it in any of the photoshoots. This is more the pity.
Her body is more articulated than my Margot Robbie Barbie.
Teresa can actually move her torso. For the time being, I am experimenting with her articulations.
I want to know what types of poses the doll is capable of performing.
Once, I have a general idea of the limits of this doll, I am going to be able to make a more structured doll photoshoot.
For the time being, enjoy Teresa in a standing, sitting, lying down and portrait photos.
I also did a Tiktok and Youtube video.
It is going to be online eventually.
Anyhow, my name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye and God bless.
