Today, I was in the mood to rant about my vacation to Cancun, Mexico. I like to keep things organized.

This blog is mainly going to focus on the pool and beach situation in Barcelo Maya Palace. We love going to the pool.

So, it is important that a hotel always has a pool. The water in the main pool was warm, almost hot.

I think the pool is climatized or the burning sunlight heats up the pool. Either way, it works well for visitors.

The main pool is ridiculously huge. It takes about half an hour to walk about the entire pool.

It has three different types of cascades and one jacuzzis. The bubbles are motion activated.

So, you need to wiggle your legs every so often, in order to maintain those bubbles. The cascades gush out water with varying degrees of intensity.

This is ideal for folks that like to get a water back massage. The rock cascade is a popular spot for folks to dive into the pool.

I do not know if it is allowed or not. I just saw a lot of guests jumping off. I figured it looked fun, so, I wanted to mention it.

The main pool has a lot of shaded areas, with stone beds for you to rest. From the main pool, you can access the bar.

You can order both fruity and alcoholic drinks. The drinks came included with our all-inclusive vacation.

Due to the size of the pool, it is almost impossible for you to bump into someone. Every guest has their own spot to claim ownership of.

The towels are free, but the pool guys appreciate it if you return them. It makes their job a lot easier.

The waitresses also roam about the pool to see if you want anything to drink. If you get bored of the main pool, there are two other pools within walking distance.

The kiddy pool is also frequented by adults. It has plenty of shaded areas and the water cannot even be considered deep. The second pool is a Olympic sized pool.

It has two basketball courts. You can ask for balls for you to fool about in the pool area. This pool is not too frequented because there aren’t any shaded areas.

The bright side is that you can have that pool to yourself. In the last day, we hung out in this pool a lot. We got a nice view of an approaching storm.

If it starts raining and thundering, the lifeguard tells you to leave. If you get bored of the pool, there is a little park, and a place for you to play chess.

The chess pieces are pretty huge, which is a fun gimmick. In a shaded area, there were two billiard tables and a place to play miniature soccer.

If all of that fails to entertain you, you can always go to the beach. The beach is pretty rocky, but there are some spots that are rock free.

I still suggest that you wear shoes, just to be safe. This beach has actual fishes and even a turtle. Depending on the sunlight, you can swim far enough to see the coral reef.

It is a good place to go snorkeling. Outside the beach, there are the chairs and palm trees with real woodpeckers.

There is so much nature in that hotel. It is pretty amusing to just sit there and see what pops up. As far as pool activities go, we spent most of our time roosting.

We were pretty tired from the tours. My brother and my mother swam in the beach a couple of times. They didn’t see any sharks.

I think there is a net around the hotel beach. This net allows the small fishes to enter while keeping the beach shark free.

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against sharks. It is just that they have developed such a bad reputation, thanks to the movies.

It is best if our worlds do not cross for the time being, for our mutual peace of mind. There is plenty of beach enough for everyone.

At night, the pool lights turn on. I do not know if you are allowed to swim in the pool at night or not. I did see a few folks swimming about.

So, I guess that it is allowed. At night, you can swim while gazing at the stars above. The only downside to swimming at night is that the bar is closed.

I think I ranted enough about the pool and beach situation in Barcelo Maya Palace.

I hope you find what I wrote amusing.

My name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye and God bless.
