Today is Monday. It is time for my weekly bjd doll photoshoot.
If you are new to Artsy Sister, I want you to know that at the start of each week I do a dolly photoshoot.
I arrange the set. I dress up the dolls and then I take cute photos of them going about their dolly lives.
All my dolls are ball jointed. You can see their profile in the home page of the website.
I tell you about their maker, and how much owning them costed me.
I have been collecting these dolls for almost 5 years now. Most of the dolls I bought in 2021. That was a good year.
Depending on the economics is how much budget I can allocate to my dolls.
I have more than ten dolls, so, I decided to scale down on my acquisition of new dolls.
I only have so much room in the house. Instead, I focus on getting the dolls I own new dresses and wigs.
Wigs are instrumental in changing the look of the doll.
A bjd doll with a new wig looks totally different. This brings me to my current inventory.
Elvira is the first bjd doll I got.
She is the whole reason that I got into collection bjd dolls.
She isn’t the most expensive doll, but she is awfully pretty.
That is the thing with ball jointed dolls, they are available in different price ranges.
The cheapest ones are Ucanaan and the most expensive are Popovy Sister dolls.
I find it amusing to window shop for dolls.
I like imagining what it would be like to own them.
A good number of doll brands drop out of existence from time to time.
Handmade bjd dolls is a very niche market. I got into in part because of Bloodborne.
It made owning a ball jointed doll seem like fun.
So, there you have it. This is how I ended up collecting ball jointed dolls. I try not to let these photoshoots consume all my time.
I have books to write and children’s books to draw. I also need to add new products to my Artsy Sister store.
I also need time to play video games. So, I need to partition my time adequately. There are never enough hours in the day to do everything that I want.
In any case, I hope that this bjd doll photoshoot amuses you. I feature my first doll Elvira, and some company.
I was going for a cream look, for the overall color composition.
I kept the poses quite varied.
Most of them are different variation of the sitting poses and some close ups of the faces.
This is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye and God bless. Happy Doll hunting.
