Today, I wanted to do a little solo bjd doll photoshoot.
Here is my lovely Lazuli doll in a cute kimono.
He is named after one of my Sacred Mask book characters.
The Lazuli from my book is an shapeshifting, fire elemental who adopted a little orphan.
I called him a fire elemental because his strongest magic is fire.
I added shapeshifting into the mix because fire is mutable.
Fire isn’t the type of element that likes to retain its original shape.
A few of my dolls are named after book characters.
The bjd dolls that are named after Sacred Mask characters are Lazuli, Inanis and Titania.
Candice is from my Sweet Vampire Candice book.
My dragon doll is from my book Ahi.
While I do the doll photoshoots, I meditate on the character that the doll is supposed to represent.
Lazuli is a bit of a grumpy old man. It is funny that I chose such a young looking doll to represent my Lazuli in the real world.
I think I ranted enough about my books. I am going to talk about the bjd doll instead.
I did with him standing, sitting, lying down and portrait photos. The kimono adds a certain gracefulness to him.
Lazuli is designed after a kitsune, or Japanese fox spirit.
I like his face design a lot. He looks extremely suspicious.
You can barely see his eyeballs. The fact that he even has eyes seems superfluous.
The fox doll poses well. His tail is a bit of an erratic element to work around with.
Still, it provides sufficient balance to keep him standing up.
Dream Valley did a really good job designing this doll.
The elastic are not too lose or too tight.
The elastics strength determines how well the doll poses.
If they are too tight, the doll spends all of his time slapping himself.
IF they are too lose, the doll loses the ability to maintain a pose.
Getting the right balance is more of an art, than a skill.
Aside from playing with bjd dolls, I have been window shopping for dolls.
There is no harm in window shopping.
It is something that I quite enjoy. It has to be something I like a lot for me to fork over the dough.
Or it has to be my Birthday. I cannot wait to see what I got as a present.
I hope that it is more bjd dolls. I would also be satisfied with new art supplies.
I recently bought for myself some bjd doll eye molds for 20 bucks.
I am going to attempt to make doll eyes.
I had plenty of leftover resin. I added some white paint into it.
Once the resin finishes curing, I am going to make new peepers for my dolls.
I am a skilled painter.
It shouldn’t be so hard to make new eyes for the dolls.
So, wish me luck.
If you see any future doll with different eyes, I hope that you know that the Artsy Sister made them.
I hope that they come out well…
It doesn’t help to assume that you are going to fail.
One must have happy thoughts all about.
Don’t worry, be happy and that type of nonsense.
I feel that I ranted enough for one day.
My name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister.
Bye, bye and God bless.
