Today, I did a new bjd dolly photoshoot. The theme was reading.
It is meant to inspire people to read print books. All joking aside, I heavily relied on miniature books as props.
This is a solo doll photoshoot. My Ahi bjd doll was made by dream valley. It is a little bit difficult to dress the doll.
The wings and the tail make it hard to find something that she can wear. The doll is also extremely skinny.
So, I needed her to wear an outfit that doesn’t look big on her. I decided for the bunny look, mainly because it was a set that actually fitted the doll.
The purse completes the look. I chose the blonde wig to go along with the pastel pink dress.
Once the doll was dressed, I needed to fix up the background elements.
I chose a dark background and pattern carpet.
This made the bright doll stand out against the background.
Aside from the books, I chose a few pirate items and exploration artifacts.
Instead of couches, the dragon bjd doll sat on skulls, and a treasure chest.
The mirror is always a fun prop to work with. I use it in practically every bjd doll photoshoot.
I need to get me a bigger, lighter mirror to work with.
The one you see in all the doll photoshoots is actually the glass box of a tick, tock, toe game.
To add to the gimmick of the photos, I used a magnifying glass. I think it made that photograph unique.
All that remained was to pose the doll. I did your standard standing, sitting, lying down and portrait poses.
It was a long weekend, and I didn’t want to overthink too much the doll photoshoot.
Solo doll photos seem to get a better reception.
It gives my viewers one doll for them to focus on. Posing too many dolls at once is rather difficult.
So, I try to avoid it as much as possible.
Before I forget, the doll dress was made by Dollmore.
I think I ranted sufficiently enough about bjd dolls.
