Today, I wanted to review the buffet situation in Barcelo Maya Palace. Depending on the time, you can dine in the Snack Bar or the main buffet.

Each one offers just about the same thing, but in varying quantities. It is for this reason that I am grouping them together.

My first exposure was to the Snack Bar. We had just arrived at the hotel. It was in the middle of the afternoon.

It was too late for lunch, but too early for dinner. Under those circumstances, the Snack Bar is the place you are going to have to visit.

This assures that the guests have access to food at all times of the day. When you go there, the waitress appoints you to a seat.

The buffet is all you can eat. However, you cannot serve yourself drinks. You need to ask for them. This is the one thing that is moderated by the staff.

The Coral Grill at night operates as a restaurant. I do not know much about that aspect of the Coral Grill. I want to focus on the buffet situation.

In the middle of the Coral grill, they have cold foods like the salads and the fruits. Around it, you can find the main foods and the desserts.

On the first day, I tried a little bit of every dessert. After trying out everything, I was able to narrow down my choices. As for the main meals, it was a mixed bag.

It all depends on what you consider good food. The taco situation was good, as well as the chicken burgers.

The desserts vary throughout the day, but some do repeat. The flans are a little lackluster, but the churros are always delicious.

The food is more or less the same in the La Hacienda buffet. At night, you get a lot more room to roam about. This provides you with more choices.

One night, they had some particularly yummy candies available, as well as donuts. In the morning, you get to have the traditional breakfast.

The bacon is cooked to perfection in nice thing slices. The eggs where a little greasy. It is best to get them from the top.

As far as scrambled eggs, there were plenty of options. You could also ask a fellow to make you a scrambled egg using the toppings that you like.

This is idea if you are picky with the egg situation. You also have your option between waffles, French toast or pancakes.

I went with the French toast. The pancakes where nothing too far out there. They were meh. I wouldn’t recommend it.

It was nice that they give you plenty of options to put on your French toast. They go down well with maple syrup and dulce the leche.

In all the buffets, you can get ice cream. The ice cream situation varies.

Sometimes it is completely melted, while other times they are super sweet or flavorless.

I would advise that you stay away from the ice creams. As far as desserts, I recommend you try the churros, the round looking desserts, as well as the sugary chips.

As for the main course, that all depends on what you are in the mood for. Every person is different.

The French fry situation was nice. It didn’t matter what form they had; they always went well with whatever food you took.

I think I ranted enough about the buffet situation. I hope you find the photos I took of all the foods amusing.

They should just about give you a general idea as to what to expect of the buffets.

Visitors to the Barcelo are mostly going to be eating from the buffets, anyway, since the entry to restaurants is by reservation.

Depending on the number of visitors, there is a chance you won’t be able to get a reservation.

Anyhow, my name is Teresita Blanco the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye and God bless.
