This is the final doll photoshoot of the day. I tried to keep things simple. It is just one doll posing.
I chose my black cat Inanis. She is named after one of the characters from my Sacred Mask books.
Her name means emptiness. It is a cool name for a character. This is not important for the moment.
I am here to discuss my dolls, not books. I recently got two small orchid plants. They were gifted to me as a get well present.
Orchids work well for me because they do not have pollen. I have a bit of a pollen allergy. It doesn’t take much to get me to start sneezing.
Thankfully, it is just a sneezing allergy. I can touch pollen just fine. Just keep scented flowers out of my face.
While looking at my new orchid plants, I realized that they made a wonderful background prop.
They are the perfect size for me to put my middle-sized dolls. The live flowers are a wonderful detail to any photography project.
They should be employed whenever possible.
It is such a pity that most flowers last so little. These orchids at least are doing well.
It doesn’t take much to keep them alive. I have them near the window.
I water them every so often. With some luck, they are going to stay alive for many more weeks or months.
This is just a conservative estimate. I am trying to stay optimistic.
This brings me back to my bjd doll. I took standing, sitting, lying down and portrait photographs.
I have done so many bjd doll photoshoots.
It has become part of my happy routine. This isn’t to say that I only play with my dolls once a week.
The rest of the week I spent it planning the next bjd doll photoshoot.
I change out the doll from her current outfit. I have her try on different wigs.
On rare occasions, I change the doll’s eyes.
It is a bit of a pain to do that, but it completely changes the feel of the doll.
As the saying goes, the eyes are the window to the soul.
So, by changing the eyes of the dolls, I am changing their soul. Sounds kinda creepy.
Don’t cha think? It is all because of all the haunted doll movies.
Haunted dolls have become a bit of a cliché at this point.
The only haunted doll in my collection is Ashley.
She is a Doll Chateau doll. I got her in 2019 or was it 2018.
I know I had her at the start of the pandemic.
Let’s just say that Ahsley is 3 to 4 years old. My…how time flies.
Her elastics are so tight that she keeps slapping herself.
My Inanis has the opposite problem.
Her hand elastic is a bit too lose.
So, sometimes she gets tired of holding her hands up.
In any case, this I hope you like reading about my bjd dolls.
My name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister.
Bye, bye and God bless.
