I made a new background for Doll Theater. I went for an abstract city feel to it. This wasn’t what I had in mind. It just ended up looking like that.
I used a project board to make this painting. I often paint both sides of the project board. It saves me the trouble of buying extra backgrounds.
The back part of the project board was brown, and it had writing. So, I had to add a layer of gesso in order to paint on top of it.
I colored the white gesso in order to save a couple of steps. Once the under color was to my liking, I sprayed white ink in order to give it a bit of texture.
All that was left was to paint the surfaces. I would paint an abstract shape before adding glitter on top of it. The glitter tends to adhere to the wet acrylic.
Acrylic is a natural glue. So, you can easily add glitter on top of it. I am a big believer that everything looks better with glitter.
I painted first the sides before painting the middle. I worked my way up from the bottom to the top.
It was an interesting project, to say the least. I hope you like it. My name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye and God bless.
