It has been a bit of sometime since I reviewed a video game. I used to do game reviews back in my old website. Anyhow… the overall point is that I wanted folks to be aware of Ender Lilies.

It has been a long time since I actually had fun with a video game. I had a good feeling about it, when I saw it in the store. I ended up preordering it. The game has a bit of a Hollow Knight vibe over the surface.

Still, when you play the game it is its own thing. I also did like a video game review of Ender Lilies. I also did the review in Spanish. So, if you don’t want to read English, you can just listen to the Spanish version. So, Ender Lilies is about the plague.

You are a little priestess who is trying to save the world from the plague. To help you, you have your Umbral Knight Stand. In fact, all the spirits who help you have a bit of a Stand Feel to them. If you don’t know what stands are just watch Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.

At most, you can put 6 stands on, but you need to find them first. The stands come in two flavors. You have the one you can use infinite amount of times. The others have a set number of usage.

Others cannot be used underwater. So, the girl gets abilities from the bosses, as well as new Stands. The map is like super useful. The areas turn yellow, when you find everything.

When the girl kicks the bucket, she just teleports back to the safestop. I like that better than the whole melodrama of “You Died”. The joke just gets old after a while.

Gameplay wise, it is pretty fun and dynamic. You got to think about the Stands or Spirits before heading out. A recent one I got was a silly bird. It works autonomously.

So, the bird is pretty useful. I have not won the game. I have gotten about 3 major bosses already, as well as a couple of weak ones. To get the fancy spirits, you new to defeat them. It is standard summoner practices.

It is also a platforming game. The underwater thing is pretty easy to manage. So far, I have not ran into any bugs. It is nice to play a game that it is not having an epilepsy.

IF you are tired of waiting for Silksong, you can play this game instead. The bosses have about 2 or  3 different stages. They are also choreographed with the music.

So, they are doing a nice Dark Souls 3 thing, with the boss battle music. It is a good way to get into the vibe of how to fight the bosses properly. When you win, you get a little story and a Flashback.

The girl suffers from plot convenient Amnesia. All in all, if you are looking for an Action Platforming game, with a slight Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure feel to it, ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights is the game for you.

The one thing I don’t like is the super long name. I think the game would have worked just fine as Ender Lilies. I like short titles. The game also has a bit of a Catholic vibe to it.

It works fine for the game. You are a priestess during the time of the Black Plague. This is not the exact plot of the game per say. They used Catholic elements combined with Paganism.

So, you have many Gods, but the Catholic fashion that looks great in medieval themed games. The last thing to mention is how to strengthen the Stands. Most of them take your standard souls.

The Umbral Knight requires ancient Souls. The knight also provides most of the gaming banter. You should pay attention to what he says. Thanks to him I was able to get the very useful crow Stand that helped me defeat the Mega Boss Witch.

The other boss Stands for the most part require angry souls. In the lore, they give you hints as to how to combine the spirits. A good combination that I found for staggering the bosses is the Winged Nun Stand (not actually her name), combined with the Petal Witch stand.

They can span their attacks together really quickly, and they can make quick work of the boss’s Stamina Bar. This helps you get a few free hits in when they stagger the boss enemy.

Of all the major bosses that I have tackled, the one that gave me the hardest time was the witch Eliene. She is the fire witch, not the plant wind witch. This fire witch around the end stars shooting fire, Master Grimm Style.

And just one hit alone is enough to KO you. This is where the stupid bird came in handy. He shot at the witch, while I did my best to dodge the bullet hell. I would have recorded the battle, but I get stage fright.

I tend to play worse, when I know I am being recorded. I am also a very inconsistent gamer. Sometimes, I just need to step back, and then come back later.

The game gives you everything you need to defeat the bosses. So, if you find a wall you cannot break, double back and explore other areas. You might just find a weaker spirit that can help you win.

Aside from the witch, today, I defeated like a giant guy. I had to use 6 different Stands to defeat it. I had the main physical offensive ones, and the ranged magic ones.

I had to keep switching between them to win, but I did it Hornet, I got good. In the beginning, he is slow. This is a good time to use the physical stands to chip away at him.

You dodge under him, and then get a few good hits in. When he gets to his second stage, you switch to the faraway attackers. You start with the poison mage, and the crow.

You save the witch Eleine’s powers for the third half of the battle. When the he goes into his berserk run, attack from far away till you have no other choice, but to get in there.

Aside from the Umbral knight, most early spirits run out of juice eventually. Still, I found this boss to be easier than Eleine. They were not going to make it easy for you to get the underwater swimming powers.

Too bad I did not record it, but I have the witch stand as proof that I defeated a powerful boss. So, if you are looking for an Action Platforming game, that is new and Fun, Ender Lilies is 5 stars worthy. Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister really likes this game.

In the Spanish Version of the video, I actually got the knight.
