I am usually practicing drawing and the like. As of lately, I wanted to give a whack at designing my own dresses. I read enough fashion books. I have a pretty decent idea as to how to go about it. The last thing that remains is the final details, and the model. I do not have a physical world type of model. I am also not a sewing type of person. What I have planned is making a book featuring a bunch of drawings of maidens in elegant dresses. As of now, I have like 40 dresses. I already exhausted all the birds that I like. I think I will tap into jellyfishes to design other dresses. I am always looking into nature for inspiration. When people do dresses designed after birds, they do not go all the way. Nature got it right, with the color combination. All one has to do is believe.

One also has to trust one’s instinct. The dress design also includes the hair and makeup. According to my fashion book, hair and makeup is part of the design. I used the crest of the birds to design the hair. I also used the natural colors of the face. Like you may have noticed, I tend to have a preference for short hair. I think long hair is pretty. Still, most of the time, long hair is a bit of a pain. This is due to my own issues with my hair. I ended up cutting it down, with paper scissors. Every couple of months, I do a bit of trimming. Sure, I could go to the hair salon. Still, you go for a haircut and you get out with a weird treatment. The hair stylist always bully me into getting something that I do not want.

They always annoy me. The only time when I got a good hair treatment was when I was 15. I had long pretty hair. It was all the way down to my waist. I used to love my long hair. Still, one day my mother got tired of doing my hair. When she stopped doing it for me, it fell on me to fix my own hair. I realized what a pain it was. Slowly, I ended up trimming it down. Eventually, I did not even bother to straighten it. It is naturally curly. I now put on rolls, to give it a bit of a shape, and to shrink it down a bit. This keeps my hair from developing a bit of an afro. With it being short, I can finish with my hair in less than half an hour. This is a nice change of pace considering that it used to take me 4 hours.

In Florida, there is a lot of humidity. Just going outside is enough to mess up your hair for good. The long and short of it, is that I have a hate, hate relationship with my hair. It takes a lot of effort to avoid chopping off all my hair. The only thing that detains me is the thought that I would look creepy bald. I am not a bald type of person. Bald people remind me a bit of Patches from Dark Souls. I like Patches. When he left Dark Souls he became the Governor of Florida; now he is in the Senate. Pretty hilarious if you think about it. This is just about it as far as my ramblings are concerned. This is just about everything I used to make my fancy drawings. I hope you find it useful for your own little projects. Mainly, it was a combination of Staedtler pens, M and G markers and Derwent coloring pencils.
