This is just another one of my many tourists photos of Bahia Principe. Most of my photos focus were actually taken with the small camera. I had originally changed my camera because of the weather. I saw the lens getting foggy and I naturally assumed there was something wrong with the camera. It is one of the flimsiest excuses to get a new camera. There was a good upside to the new model. My old camera ran on AA batteries. It used to eat through them really quickly. It was a real pain and the like. At least the new one has rechargeable batteries.
It even comes with a new one. Now, back to Bahia Principe. It is a place in Punta Cana. The area is designed as a type of nature reserve. Tourist people do like seeing nature and a bunch of palms and the like. It creates the illusion of a tropical paradise. Frankly, the place seemed like a mosquito breeding ground. Every night, we were being bit by mosquitoes. To deal with the problem, I started wearing a long dress. I am always bit on the legs. So, I was ok just by protecting the legs. I am glad I came home without any serious complications.
Everyone knows that mosquitoes are the only thing that can seriously cull the human population. They kill more humans than actual humans. There is always like 20 million people worldwide that die because of the mosquitos every year. One would think that with those stats we would be running out of humans. Still, there is like a truckload of humans being born every minute. I suppose somethings cannot be helped. People do not take mosquitoes with the seriousness they deserve. Every day, I see more and more mosquitoes.
The mutant ones they released in Florida are not helping to control their population. The female mosquitoes can tell the difference between the normal ones, and the mutant ones. In fact, I think that life found a way, and now we have a thriving population of both mutant and regular mosquitoes. In my experience, whenever humans fiddle around with nature it always ends badly. I think the two of them were never meant to mix. Humans, need to live in their cities, and nature must be left alone.
