I took a long vacation from everything. My family went down to Key West to soak in the pool for a bit.
In Key West, it seems like life has returned to normal. While there, we also visited two museums.
The first one was the Museum of Hemingway. I think the place is not properly named.
The museum focuses on his cats. According to the curator, the museum was founded under the express written consent that they would look after Hemingway’s cat family.
Hemingway could only write when his cats where around. So, throughout the museum I saw a bunch of cat paintings, photos and the descendants of Hemingway’s cats.
They are so fluffy and sweet. Only the cats are allowed to touch the historical stuff. They are the true owners of the Hemingway museum. So, if you are a cat lover, you folks should pay the museum a visit.
All the money goes to keeping the cats fed, and happy. The cats have their own personal shelters, cat houses, and food. They roam about the property, and they look nice and healthy.
While I was there, I made a point to pet as many cats as I ran into. I did manage to pet 3. The others where going about their business, and so they ignored me. Two others where sleeping in the bed of their dead master, Hemingway.
I took a nice photograph of the kitty cats. There was one in particular that I really liked. It was white and orange. The cat was such a cupcake, real gentle and sweet.
The cats there are like super used to human company. Then again, humans are technically the outsiders in this story. The entrance for adult visitors at the time was 17 bucks.
If you are a writer, you should try to pet one of those cats of the museum. Maybe some of Hemingway’s talent will rub off on you. I think I have ranted enough about cats.
Aside from the nice looking cats, there was a lot of random stuff to see. The place had a nice peaceful vibe, and cute gardens as well. I can see how Hemingway got a lot of work done.
The surroundings of an artist are important for the development of their craft. So, if you are having concentration issues just take a page from a very prolific writer, Me!!
The Artsy Sister, Teresita Blanco. Speaking of writing, I just finished my vampire book. While I was out and about, I came up with an idea for a new book and I have been making significant progress.
I put editing the other book on hold. While I have the inspiration, I need to settled down to write. I already have 15,000 words into the new book. I only started writing it a week ago.
I have a good feeling about it. At least, it is fun to write. The new book is a bit more mature than my usual type of writing. I do not know what type of category is going to fall into once it is published.
As I said before, I do not have a target audience. I just write whatever I feel like, and I hope for the best. As the saying goes, do what you love and the money will flow. I am still not ready to give more details about it.
So, yeah! The Hemingway museum was great. I got to pet 3 cats. That was the high point of my day. I saw among Hemingway’s stuff a photo of a lady that looked like my grandma.
The dude did used to do the mess around about my old country. Well, I think this is about it as far as my nonsense is concerned. I went up 3 pounds in my vacation, so I consider it a success.
IF you do not go up weight in your vacation, then you probably did not enjoy it to your fullest. For me, vacation is also vacation from dietary restrictions. I will just workout harder later.
I was like going to do a video, but I find that to be a chore. I express myself better in writing anyway. I am a writer after all, not a TV Youtube type of person.
So, I am going to go back to being more blog oriented. This is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, Bye and God bless.
