Today, I wanted to show you my three new ink arts. The first one worth mentioning is supposed to invoke a meteor shower.

I used a mold in order to make the ice centers. I first painted the silvery edges with plenty of ink.

I used rubbing alcohol to make the paint flow a little better. Rubbing alcohol combines well with alcohol ink.

The problem is obviously the smell. Try to have ventilator on in order to keep the fumes from rising up and hitting your face.

I would advise you to use a mask, but the one I had available doesn’t block fumes. So, it didn’t help me one bit.

I made a mental point to use water in my next ink art projects. Water is the universal solvent. It thins out everything it touches.

So, I was curious to see how it worked with ink arts. Still, this is a tale for another blog.

In order to create the streak effect, I tilted the paper. This gave it the nice glow. I made a silver meteor to go along with the main meteor.

The smaller meteors didn’t have a perfect shape. I used white paint to delineate the edges.

When I tilted the paper, this create a nice, streamlined effect. Once the painting was done, all that remained was to dry it.

As before, the dry version looks a tad different from the wet version. It is always amusing to watch paint dry.

I always take photographs of the wet and dry versions of the paintings. I have also gotten into the habit of photographing small details.

The next painting worth mentioning is based on a Nebula. I wetted the paper with alcohol ink.

Once it was extremely saturated, I started to pour little droplets of white paint from up high.

This created quite the interesting starlight effect. On top of the white, I added colored paint.

I need a white paint foreground for the color ink to be visible on the black paper. At the end of the painting, I added the letter A with white ink.

It all came out rather interesting. The final painting worth mentioning is my rainbow dots one.

I was going for a spiral effect, but it didn’t come out. Instead, it looks like a pride Ying Yang sign.

I do not see it. This is just what a friend claims to have seen when looking at the painting.

This is the thing about abstract art.

We all see whatever. Anyhow, it was an interesting project to say the least.

Like the others, I took some wet and some dry photographs.

I also took two photographs of the paint details.

I think it was an interesting effort to say the least.

I am always trying to reinvent my artwork.

It isn’t fun to always do the same thing over and over.

I think I ranted enough for one day.

If you want to see the videos of these paintings, they can be found in my Tiktok and my Youtube Artsy Sister channels.

They all last less than a minute.

So, they should give you the gist of what you need to know to make your own alcohol ink art.
