Today, I wanted to show you my latest ink art heart paintings. I was trying out simple shapes with my ink art paintings.
I also wanted to do a heart of each color. The first painting features a red heart. I started with a simple red heart in the middle.
I then added a red ripple effect coming from the middle of the painting.
In order to add a bit of interest to the painting, I used the colors blue and green for the empty spaces between the red pulses.
Blue and Green are the split compliments of red. It is useful to apply a bit of color theory to your paintings.
It saves a lot of guess work as far as color application is concerned. The last thing I did was apply white ink to the red heart.
By adding just, a single droplet of white ink, I was able to create the interesting effect you see above.
The overall feel for this painting was rather warm. I am actually happy with the finished product.
As always, I took a photograph of the wet and dry versions of this painting. I also photographed three painting details.
I chose different details from within the wet and dry versions of the painting.
The following artwork features an orange and a yellow emoji hearts.
The black ink is rather temperamental.
I can never seem to get it to behave the way I want.
The first thing I did was make the orange and yellow hearts.
I then used the blank ink to create the happy little faces.
The orange heart ended up having a bit of an odd expression.
The eyes look kinda bizarre. Other than that, they look alright to me.
I added some white dots to create points of interest.
All this does is lighten the colored ink bellow.
The white ink is never able to completely dominate the colored hues.
With that out of the way, all that was left was to make the background.
I used pink and golden ink to for the background.
The pink ink was so strong that it bit a chunk from the yellow heart.
This became more noticeable in the dry version of the painting.
The Golden splashes were rather interesting.
They add a pretty shimmer to everything.
Like the other painting, I took wet and dry photographs, as well as painting details.
The videos for these paintings are already up and about in Youtube.
You can check them out if you want to learn how to make your own ink art.
