Today arrived my new bjd doll Izzy. I renamed her Ahi. It seemed like a more fitting name. The doll was made by Dream Valley.
As of now, I have officially 3 Dream Valley Dolls. This doll was a pre-order. When ordering the doll, I asked for her wings to be red, instead of Grey.
She looks pretty cool with the red wings. All dragons should be the color red. I feel that red is the best scale color for dragons, second only to black scales.
Pink dragons are also cute as well. The doll came with extra pair of hands. The eyes also came installed on the new doll.
It saved me some assembly time. I took some photos of the unboxing process. The wings and the tail move seamlessly.
She is pretty easy to pose. Her tiny dragon claws are pretty cute. After removing the coverings, I dressed the pretty little doll.
Dressing her was easy enough. All I had to do was remove the head in order to put on the main shirt. Once getting the head back on, the rest was easy.
I used a hanger to pull at the main elastic. Using your fingers for that, hurts a lot. Speaking of elastics, the head horns are attached with elastics.
This makes the horns articulated. You can move them around, and push them forward and backwards.
I have been leaning more towards fantasy themed bjd dolls. The doll in addition to the cool wings, she has small little teeth. She looks a lot like a little shark.
The outfit is fine quality. It doesn’t have a lick of Velcro. It uses tiny buttons for the dress.
The main jacket was easy enough to put on. I did not have to remove the hands. It was stretchy enough for the claws to enter.
It is a good thing as well, because I do not have a lot of experience with customizing bjd dolls. At most, all I do is change up the wigs and outfits.
I could try changing up the eyes. Then again, installing eyes for me is more frustrating than fun.
As far as eyes, this cute dragon doll has nice looking set of peepers. The eyelashes have are nicely styled as well.
The worn patterns on the wings are an interesting detail as well. The wings is the best part of the doll. They move about really nicely.
The tail provides good balance for the doll. The overall bjd doll is pretty light. The last thing I wanted to mention is the name of the doll.
Ahi is a type of chili pepper. It is spelled Aji in Spanish. It is also the name of a Tuna.
Ahi is also related to Ahimsa, which is the Jainism concept of trying not to do harm to living things.
The Jain monks go so far as to wear a mask to avoid eating tiny tardigrades. They also sweep the floor ahead of them to safely push away tiny ants.
The name is also related to the Hindu God of fire Agni. It is also the name of the main character of one of my books, who is also a dragon.
I love dragons. It is usually very fun to write about them. The dragon doll looks pretty cool indeed.
I hope you like this first preliminary photoshoot. After this doll, there are two other dolls that have been preordered.
The ones that still have to arrive are Dollmore Vampire doll and a Doll Chateau Faun doll. I expect the Dollmore dolly to arrive in the Spring.
The Doll Chateau one might not appear till next year. Dollies at least give me something to look forward to.
It is also amusing to take nice photos of them. I hope that you like the first preliminary photoshoot as well as the unboxing photos.
This should just about give you an idea as to what to expect of cute little dragon dolls made by Dream Valley.
This is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, Bye and God bless. I really need to get around to updating the homepage a bit.
I need to add the new dolls to the homepage roster. Anyhow, I hope you have fun collecting and playing with ball jointed dolls. They are all so unique.
