A couple of weeks ago, I did a couple of pouring paintings. This is the other set of six paintings that I made. The paintings are in no particular order. The first one was made by adding a flat color of purple paint.
I flattened the paint with a straw. I then added some colors in the middle. I then used a stick to make the little star shape. The final round dots were added one droplet at a time.
I used a syringe to add the color droplets. The colors had a bit of water in the mix. I had just cleaned the syringe a bit. The water was the source of the bizarre round shape.
I did not plan it to come out like that. Still, it was one of those little happy accidents. When the painting looked just right, I decided that it was time to make another one.
I made about six little paintings the same night. It is a good rate for me. I finally got around to hanging them. I used push pins. They hold the tiny paintings well, since I am using a wrapped canvas.
The following painting I also added one solid layer of blue color. I then flattened the paint with a straw, because I do not have a palette knife. I would get one, but I don’t know how to use it.
I am a learn as a I go type of artist. Anyhow, after adding the solid layer of color, I added a single droplet and started moving it around. From time to time, some excess paint fell to the sides.
Using my finger, I added the paint to the top of the canvas once again. It was a good thing I used gloves this time. It was a real mess the previous time I did pouring paintings.
It took days to wash away the paint. From time to time, I added a little droplet of pink. You can see the places were the pink was added, by the point where the paint was stretched.
The following painting was a little bit different around the edges. I wanted to make some dots type of pouring painting. I added color by color using the syringe. Before then, I added a top coat of hot pink paint.
I did hot pink because of the 80s. If you stare at it long enough, the hot pink will make you grow a mullet. Can you guess the reference? Anyhow, as I went along, I added some other colors.
I also added a little bit of white too. The painting is nothing special. I am just practicing around the edges. The following painting is another side pouring painting. I followed the same inclination of the paint.
As the paint got added to the sides, I used the finger to add it to the top layer once again. This time, I did not add a top coat of paint. I prepared the paints before starting with the pouring process.
I first putted in a little cup some purple, then I added the other colors to the side. I kept them somewhat separated from each other. I think it came out pretty neat. If I was talking order wise, the last couple of paintings I made were the little orby ones.
Speaking of which, here is the next orby painting. I made it with a black background. I did so to make the colors pop. The last painting in the mix did not come out how I wanted it too, but it was decent enough.
I had one main drop of paint, and I swirl it around by moving the canvas a bit. I need to get more pouring colors. I want to make different color combinations. As you may have noticed, green is missing from the mix.
It is going to be a little bit of a while before I get anything in particular. The family is getting me a new fancy doll. It is going to get here when it gets here. I just can’t wait for it to get home.
It is good to have good news and the like. Sometimes when the world doesn’t have good things for you, you have to create your own happiness. Create your own good news, and make for yourself something happy to look forward to.
I just don’t want to worry about any nonsense and the like. I think I want to now mention what you might look forward to, as far as my work is concerned. I am working on completing the last book I was working on.
I am in the editing stages. I am also finishing the final volume of the Furies. I am also brainstorming a new cat book and the like. I am also thinking of writing a new poetry. It is going to be like a spell book.
I need to do a bit of research around the edges. I hope you find it fun. I think this is about it was far as my nonsense goes. The paints I used were Mont Marte. They had a specific pouring medium set.
You can see the sets I got in the home page, inside the Artsy Sister’s Choice collection. To these paints, I added some Liquitex pouring medium to extend the paints.
From time to time, I added a base coat of Liquitex Iridescent mediums. It tends to make the bottom color of the canvas more shinny. I think this is about it was far as my nonsense goes.
I hope you have a fine day, and I have one of those strange good feelings about the future. I have been getting that vibe from time to time. I had that thought when I started the year.
The plague may cloud that feeling every so often, but it hasn’t extinguished it. I suppose that is what some people may call hope. For the time being, I will continue praying till I see the rainbow at the end of the storm.
