There is plenty of things to see with your camera. However, some formats are not so self explanatory. In cannon, the A, means that there is aperture priority. You can control the aperture manually. The rest of the format is automatic. The P has mostly things automatic. The rest can be controlled by you. Most of the cameras have everything just about the same. The A and P formats usually vary from camera to camera. It is like they cannot decided on a uniform format. They all have to change the menu so that it doesn't seem like they are copying one another.
Another common problem with cameras is the ISO. Sure, ISO is good for making the pictures brighter. However, it tends to add a granny aspect to the photo. ISO is basically how sensitive to light is the lens. The focal point is another thing to keep track off. It monitors what you can see through a wide view and the like. You can tell the ranges based on the mm on your camera. The larger the number the smaller the focal length.
Still, it makes everything in the foreground all in focus. So, if you want to do a portrait, you need to have the focal point around 18mm. For landscapes and the like, you can do 400 mm, for specific details. There is a couple of different ways to change the focal point. One way is to increase the aperture size. This helps you get out of focus anything that is distraction. You can also mess with the zoom. By zooming, you can make the background look less sharp, while making the foreground more defined.
