Today, I wanted to show you four ink arts I made for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I made videos of all my ink arts. The long and short version of those videos are already up and about in Youtube.
The short versions can only be found in my Tiktok. So, this is ideal for folks that prefer to see a video, instead of reading about my artwork.
All my new paintings were made with Pixiss ink and paper. The paper is designed specifically for these types of inks.
I took photos of both the wet and dry versions of the paintings. I also photographed a few painting details.
I hope that you find them amusing. Now, I am going to talk about my paintings in Specific.
The first little pink ribbon was done with black paper. There was a bit of degree of difficulty with this painting.
I started by oversaturating the paper with rubbing alcohol. I then added the pink ink into the painting.
The pink added to the black paper ended up looking copper. So, I had to add white ink in order to make the pink stand out.
Once I had defined the pink ribbon, I added bubbles to add interest. My first attempt at a pink ribbon ended up looking a bit abstracted.
It was a bit difficult to take this paper out of dry. Alcohol ink dries quickly, but I had over saturated the paper with rubbing alcohol.
The wet version and the finished version ended up looking pretty different. The paint moved about a bit during the move.
This is why I take two photographs. The second painting was also done in black paper.
This time I didn’t saturate the paper with rubbing alcohol. I added first white ink and then I added pink ink over it.
This helped me define the pink ribbon pretty easily. I gave my pink ribbon a bit of an aura.
In the middle, I added red dots to give a bit of interest to the background.
I think the second pink ribbon ended up looking a lot better.
The third painting features two pink ribbons.
I added orange and green to the background.
I was going for a split complimentary scheme.
I added silvery dots to the center of the pink ribbons in order to make them stand out from the amorphous background.
The final painting features a single pink ribbon.
This one is surrounded by red hearts of support.
Now, I am just being a little bit cheesy.
I think my artwork ended up looking rather nice.
There isn’t much of a different between the wet and dry form of this painting.
I had turned on the ventilator to help the paint dry quicker.
The downside to this strategy is that wet ink doesn’t blend easily with dry ink.
All in all, it was an interesting effort. I hope you liked my new ink art.
My name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye and God bless.
Sorry it took me so long to make Pink Ribbon Art. This month has been super busy.
