This is quite the nice anime drawing of mine. It features a maiden playing the wonderful sarrusophone. I do not know why folks limit themselves to just the guitar and the piano. There is a world of instruments out there for the learning. If not for the world, then at least your can create music that completes you.

The instrument is part of the transposing woodwind instruments. It was invented in 1856. It was named after the Pierre Auguste Sarrus, who had the idea for the instrument. Like those whinny twins, Sarrus did not get credit for his creation, nor did he make money from it.

It was a good thing he at least had his talent to put food on the table. The instrument enjoyed some mild usage among early Jazz musicians. These days it makes cameos in symphonic wind ensembles, or as a gimmick instrument in operas.

Needless to say, it never got the respect it deserved. I drew it because I wanted more people to learn to play this elegant looking musical instrument. It needs more music made for it. As for my life, nothing of importance has been happening.

There was a plague in one of the climbing vines, and so we had to get rid of it to protect the rest of the plants. The tomatoes and bell peppers have daily plagues. Every day, we have to transplant little caterpillars onto the ferns. I am starting to think I am not cut out to try my hand at farming.

I suppose this is it as far as my ramblings are concerned. The drawing is a mixture of fine liner pens, and coloring pencils. I use pretty cheap pencils to render the shadings.

In the end, the talent lies on the artists and not on the art supplies. The quality of stuff is just for posterity’s sake, but what do I care of what is left of my work once I am dead. By then, I will have bigger problems, like which house I plan on haunting.
