I took this photo in a restaurant that no longer exists. The Hurricane Irma came and it took with it many things. People think that by now the area should have recovered. However, this has not been the case. Even places insured are seeing slow, painful progress. Most of the boats on the coast got docked in the middle of the road. They are ruined, and will not be able to sail again. Hurricanes are scary, and even if you do not live on the coast, you still get ruined by them one way or another.
The day the Hurricane came to my house, it was really tense. It just would not leave. Andrew was said to be strong, but at least it did not linger for three days. Even after Irma left, it was still ruining people's life in the form of a month long blackout. People in Florida actually died because of it. Homes that had no generators had old people dropping dead, due to the heat. It was all a complete mess.
I am just a bit glad I took this photo, now that I think about it. We imagined that things are always going to look the same. We take certain views for granted. Now, that I know that the Keys are still messed up, I decided to give a look at this old photo I too. I just wanted to share this little bit of nostalgia with you.
