Today, I wanted to show you two new self-portraits. I was mimicking the painting style of Romero Britto and Pablo Picasso. Both have pretty similar cubism style. Picasso is classical cubism, while Britto is soft Cubism.

Picasso likes to have plain backgrounds, while Britto likes colorful backgrounds. Both artists are visually comparable. This is why I chose to make two self-portraits in their styles.

The first painting I wanted to talk about is the self-portrait I made Pablo Picasso style. I looked through my closet to find a dress that looked a bit cubist. I also wore a cute yellow hat.

The rest was just a matter of changing my face in order to make it cubist style. This isn’t the first time I have made a Picasso self-portrait.

When I was in primary school, an art teacher gave us an assignment to do a self-portrait Pablo Picasso style. I wish I still had the original artwork I made when I was in Primary school.

Alas, it was all lost in the sands of time. It was probably not that good. I painted the background in a strong blue hue. I also painted my lips and eyes with glitter color. I thought it would add a bit of life to the silly self-portrait.

I think it came out pretty decent. The second self-portrait was done Britto style. Britto is a bit of a newer painter. I think that he might still be alive. It is so hard to tell these days.

Let me just look it up for a second…yes…he is still alive. He is 59 years old. It is good that he survived the plague. Anyhow, I tried to make a self-portrait while mimicking the style he used to make this Queen Elizabeth painting.

I used a lot of glitter paint in the background. I like to give it my own artistic flare. All in all, I think I did a pretty decent job mimicking his style.

I even wrote my autograph in the corner, Britto style. There really isn’t much to say about these two watercolor paintings.

There isn’t any hidden symbolism behind it. I just wanted to try to paint in a different style. It is what you do when you have nothing better to do.

In any case, my name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye, and God bless.
