The Sacred Mask - Kindle edition by Blanco, Teresita. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

Today, I wanted to discuss the types of intelligent lifeforms that inhabit the Sacred Mask book. While Planet Earth only has humans, the world of Deimos has many different creatures.

The first character featured in the book is the Little Ogre Caron. He is a halfling, with the Ogre blood being the strongest. This grants him regenerative abilities, and a strong tolerance for pain.

He also does magic, but magic is not limited to one specific lifeform. My book also has dragons and elves. The dragons hide their splendor since they had a falling out with their female peers.

In that world, female dragons are usually bigger and stronger. Since they bully their weaker male counterparts, the male dragons developed poison glands, and the ability to hide their scales and horns.

Male dragons also run the risk of being hunted by lower lifeforms. Those that are not careful get turned into dragon scale armors or studhorses. The only dragon species that doesn’t follow this pattern are the descendants of Muldred.

The male dragon Muldred comes in two different flavors. His descendants are either 100 percent draconic looking, or they have the shape of a normal person. A normal person or mutt is an amalgamation of all the intelligent lifeforms mixed into one.

This person doesn’t have one strong bloodline. If one is strictly eyeballing a normal character in my book, he would resemble a human. As for true humans, they are an endangered species.

The main one featured in my book is the vampire maiden Sophina, who transforms into the lightning shooting mare, Stormphina. Vampires like her have a preference for elven blood.

Most cannot stomach draconic blood, due to the fact that most dragons have poison glands. Sophina is married to the owner of the Sacred Mask, the Mad Elf Eric. Since she is a human, she can only breed with other humans.

The other lifeforms do not have those restrictions. Like classical elves, Eric has magic and longevity. With his magic, he can also supplement the physical strength he lacks.

Physically, the dragons are top predator in that world. Elves may not be physically strong, but they have higher instances of magic users, and they are far more numerous.

True elves can grow physically as strong as male dragons. The elves simply have to exercise a lot harder, since they build muscle mass at a much slower rate. Other prominent lifeforms are the mermaids.

The ones I have developed so far are the Tritons and the Selkies. The Tritons evolved from seahorses, and they mate like them too. Their magic is based on potions and alchemy.

The selkies abilities work through enchantments. Both are super into archeology, and they unearthed near Wallen an ancient, futuristic city with most of its gadgets intact.

Of the uncommon lifeforms in the continent, I have giants, dwarfs and goblins. An intelligent lifeform that doesn’t appear often in fantasy books lately are the satyrs.

I find the idea of satyrs quite amusing, so I featured them prominently in book two and three of the Sacred Mask. The first one to be featured is Lilian, a halfling. The only visible Satyr traits are his horns.

His brother Adrian is more Satyr like. I gave him cute hoofs, the horse tail and elegant curled horns. The other prominent lifeforms are called elementals. They are a group of creatures that have one thing in common, the ability to eat mana.

All the reader knows about the elementals is what main characters know. As the Sacred Mask book progresses, you start learning more about them. The elementals disguise themselves as normal citizens.

They have a history of being hunted like monsters. They are naturally weary and distrustful of creatures that are not like themselves. Of the elementals, the ones I have developed a lot are the Myrmidons.

They are creatures born of my imagination. They evolved from the cuttlefish. On the surface, their exoskeleton resembles ants, or other types of bug creatures.

Due to their cuttlefish ancestor, they can change the shape and color of their exoskeleton in order to mimic people, or physical objects.

When they unwind, they can stretch their limbs and move like the octopuses. All have the ability to fly with insect like wings. There are also the unknown types of creatures like Pandora and Inanis.

There are also certain individuals that are technically aliens. Zuberus is an elf that travels from world to world, using magic.

Muldred is a dragon from the terraformed planet of Saturnastra. He also got to Deimos via teleportation. I hope you find amusing all the variety of intelligent creatures that I have in my fantasy book.

Variety as they say is the spice of life. I hope you have fun reading my Sacred Mask book series.
