Last July, I revisited Tulum with my family. On our second visit, we had more time to fool about.

We arrived there pretty early in the morning. Despite the early time, it was pretty hot.

From time to time, a cloud would pass over the horizon to provide a bit of shade. The ruins looked a little bit more ruined.

They were a few archeologists trying to restore some of the ruins. A hurricane had passed over Tulum recently.

It did a number on the archeological site. In spite of everything, Tulum survived more or less in one piece.

The entrance was now in a different location. We passed first by the vending places.

From there, we walked a pretty long time until we arrived at the official entrance of Tulum.

We went there with a large tour group. We didn’t know anyone, but we got along just fine.

We made small talk with a guy that was from Florida. Quite the small world, indeed. We had in our cellphone a little fan.

It provided a bit of relief from the heat. Our tour guide ranted about the ruins for a bit.

The Mayans had chosen to make a city in this location because they loved the view. I can see why they liked this location.

The ocean view from the cliff is pretty amassing. I took a few photos of the beach and the cliffside.

I would have loved to go down to the beach, but the hurricane took all the sand. This has been a bit of a growing problem for coastal cities all across the world.

Even without the sand, the steps to go into the beach were not structurally sound. For our safety, we were not allowed to go down there to fool about.

We continued the tour going from shaded area to shaded area. Every so often, I would stop by to take a picture of a ruin or a butterfly.

I saw plenty of Iguanas in Tulum. They are the only creatures allowed to ride the Mayan Pyramids.

The mosquitoes awoke around noon. So, I advise that you take with you mosquito repellant.

Where there are a lot of trees, there are bound to be mosquitoes. At the end of the tour, we had a bit of free time to get some souvenirs.

I bought a couple of figurines and a t-shirt. The price was acceptable, even if I had to pay with pesos.

The dollar has gotten so devalued that not even the Mexicans want it. It is a tough time for everyone.

So, it would seem. I think I ranted enough about Tulum for one day.

If you ever visit Mexico, I recommend that you visit this Mayan Historical sight.

Hopefully, by the time you visit, the beach might have been restored.

IF not, you can at least take in the sights and the history.

In any case, my name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister.

Bye, bye and God bless.
