Megaman 6 Game Review
Megaman 6 was the first Megaman game that I played. It was for the Play Station 1. Basically, we have this cute little Megaman. He was a boy that was turned into a Robot.
For a while, I thought he was a guy in an armed suit. How I discovered that he was 100% robot was an interesting story in it of itself. Remember, that I did not speak English at the time.
In this Megaman game, there was this random robot that came from the Stars. Dr. Light sorta healed the guy. He then rescues Megaman from one of Dr. Willy's giant robots.
Like all the Megaman games, this one has eight stages. Each had a little boss. Whenever he was defeated the little Megaman got powers. Each powers helped you defeat a different boss.
They were each mutually weak against each other. His best powers came from the dog. He either fought or fused with Megaman. In their combined form Megaman was able to fly.
The same old Roll was there. I forget if she was Dr. Light's niece or something. Anyhow, you sometimes found some loose screws. She made them into weapon upgrades.
In the last level, you fight all the bosses again. That is quite common in many other level games. To win, you have to keep an eye out for the recharger. It is best to save them for Dr. Willy. As usual, Megaman must foil Dr. Willy's taking over the world scheme.
In the end, you get to arrest Dr. Willy. He always escapes in every part. There is never one Megaman game where Dr. Willy is not the final boss. It is almost like a competition between Dr. Willy's robots and Dr. Light's Megaman.
The whole object of the game proves that Mankind is still superior to machines. Thus, a human in a machine's body was able to best the strongest machines ever created.
Megaman Legends 1 Play Station Game Review
Megama Legends 1 was a breath of fresh air. It is the only Megaman game where the view is not 2D. Basically, Megaman and Roll are looking for the Mother Load. On the side they collect Refractive Crystal.
They are the source of power of all the machines in the World of Megaman. One day, they sorta crash landed into an island. This island supposedly has the mother load. One day, the island gets attacked by the Bonne Pirates. They too are searching for the Mother Load.
For most of the Game, Megaman either fights the Bonnes or investigates ruins. Eventually, the underground ruins act up. Megaman thus fights a strange Rebobot who is ought to destroy the world.
He plans to use the power of a giant Refractive crystal as a power source. Well, this guy is the final boss of the game. The fight is two parts. He goes crazy around the middle. In the end, this was not the mother load.
Like in most Megaman games, Megaman gets upgrades. His weapons are quite varied. There are also armor upgrades that allow Megaman to jump really high or to use automatic roller blades.
You know, this kid is the reason that I imagined that all Megamans where weird kids in an armed suit. Aside from that, some of the upgrades can only be gotten in competitions.
After you fix the city up, you can go do certain mini missions that gives you weapon parts or HP ups. I think that is everything worth mentioning.
You know, I won almost all these Play Station games without a memory card. I was forced to buy one when I bought Final Fantasy X. I won all these games in less than a day.
Megaman Legends 2 Play Station Game Review
Megaman Legends 2 is much harder then Megaman Legends 1. The fights take place in a wider world. Basically, Roll and Megaman get left behind. The professor is investigating this weird island.
Oh, I forget, Roll is searching for the Mother Load because her parents disappeared searching for it. In the beginning, a strange lady attacks the ship that was trying to get inside the Island surrounded by a terrible storm.
Eventually, Roll and Megaman are forced to go to the island to save Roll's Grandpa. Inside, they discovered two strange beings. They claim to know the location of the Mother Load.
This is obviously all a hoax. The island was keeping them from getting out. Eventually, Megaman returns to his home world to fight the weird chick that was sealed away.
A lot of weird things happen in the middle. The Bonne family also enters the scene. They had made a lot of money from the giant Refractive Crystal they found in the first part. There are also some other pirates.
Mostly, Megaman has to deal with some Gaint Rebo Bots. The final boss is really hard. However, the lazer beam makes quick work of it. The pity is that the upgrades cost an arm and a leg. Other than that, the game is the same as before, except harder.
Megaman X Play Station Game Review
Megaman X centers on X. He is the replacement of Megaman. He is also the second oldest Reploid. All others where based on Megaman X. What is unique about him is that his processing powers are very similar to those of a human.
Well, Megaman X is a new Maverick Hunter. In the first world, he gets in trouble and is saved by Zero. The Maverick Hunters are trained to defeat rogue Reploids. Currently, the world is being controlled by Sigma and his goods. He was a former Maverick Hunter. He was also the first to go crazy.
Well, the fighting here is pretty neat. There are also armor upgrades. Like the old Megaman, X gets powers when he defeats his enemies. Here we find out that the new Reploids have DNA. They are very similar to humans. With the DNA of a Reploid you can find out a lot about them.
X had been napping for a long time to make certain he would not go evil. The problem is that the other Reploids did not take such long dirt naps. Well, that is the storyline in a nutshell. The game play is really fun.
Megaman X2 Play Station Game Review
Well, I don't remember much of Megaman X2. I think I played with Zero for a single level. When he charged his buster gun he released his sword. I think he dies in this game.
I am not certain if the boss is Sigma or not. Wait, I think it was Sigma, over and over again. Oh well, Megaman X2 deserves 5 stars rating. I only played it once. It was a loaner.
Megaman X4 Play Station Game Review
I liked a lot Megaman X4. Here you can either play all the way as Zero or as X. Interesting enough, Zero has more movies in this game. Basically, some random guys get accused of being Mavericks.
They were blamed for an accident. Thus, they called it quits and decided to form a society of Reploids away from the human control. On X side, the evil one is a fat yellow guy.
He was pretending to be good, but he worked for Sigma. On Zero's side it was his girlfriend, Iris. She was torn between her love for Zero and her love for her brother. Her brother was among the Reploids that dissented from human control.
Eventually, the fights takes them to out of space. There X fights the fat guy and Zero his girlfriend. Both get kinda depressed afterwards. The final boss is still Sigma. The Zero storyline comes with a Sigma movie flash back.
Here we see why Sigma became a Maverick. He fought Zero back when he was still under Dr. Willy's control. Oh, yeah, Zero was made by Dr. Willy. He killed the first Megaman.
The funny thing is that Dr. Light never felt like telling Zero that he slew the first Megaman. It was a real bummer. If you think about it, after Megaman died Dr. Willy sorta outgrew the whole Taking over the World thing.
I guess it was simply an excuse to test his robotic construction skill against Dr. Light. When he finally created his opus magnus he did not care anymore about taking over the world.
Anyhow, the take home message for both chibis was pretty neat. Megaman asked Zero to slay him should he become a Maverick. Zero realizes that he used to be a Maverick. He still is part Maverick if you think about it.
He was not able to save anyone at all. It's funny when X finished his mission Zero called him up. However, when Zero was returning home, he did not get a call from X.
The armors here are pretty cool. I think X gets the Fourth Armor. The powers are pretty interesting. I think that is everything worth mentioning.
Megaman X5 Play Station Game Review
Actually, Megaman X5 was the first Megaman X game that I ever played. The start song was really cool. Basically, Sigma is at it again. This time more powerful than ever.
The Sigma virus is running rampant, not even the humans are safe from it. To make matters worse, a bounty hunter named Dinamo is going to crash the space colony, Eurasia, to earth.
The Maverick Hunters need to find parts for the cannon to shoot it down. When it fails, you send Zero out in a rocker to blow it up. If that too fails, he goes insane.
There is a lot of uncertainty in this game. You get several levels up or powers when you win the levels. Depending on how you play is the results of the game. The problem is that there is a random element.
Only once, did I manage to blow up Eurasia using the cannon. All the Maverick Hunters where happy about it. The earth was saved and happy ending for the most part.
When Eurasia is not blown up correctly by Zero, it becomes problematic. In either scenario both X and Zero end up fighting. When both Zero and X fight, Sigma joins the party.
He tries to slay X and Zero intercepts the attack. When Eurasia is not broken up correctly by Zero, Sigma kills him before the final battle. In the other versions, Zero survives. In this game you can fight as either X or Zero. However, if you use X first Zero's gun gets broken. If Zero goes first, X looses his Fourth armor.
Speaking of armor, X here gets two new armors. One is the falcon armor. The Falcon armor flies. However, its shots are too weak. For the final boss it is best to use the fourth armor.
It helps you hover close to the weak spot of the final boss. The other armor just lets you walk over spikes. Zero gets no armor as usual. Getting the armors is really hard.
Well, the boss battles are pretty hard. Aside from the final boss, the hardest one is the clown. You have to fly a lot. Onto, the final boss. The final battle with Sigma is really hard. It is even harder with Zero. The elemental weakness of Sigma is hard to use with Zero.
X gets blast and Zero sword moves. His sword moves are really hard to perform. When you win with X and Zero dies before fighting Sigma, X forgets him after being rescued by Dr. Light. When Zero wins, we see a strange little flash back.
There appears a picture of Zero fighting Sigma. To be honest, the first time I saw it, it looked as if they were good buddies. They did not make the picture correctly.
In his last thoughts, he was thinking of Iris and his birthday. When X wins, we see him sad about Zero and then they get blasted by Sigma. You know, when X was blasted by Sigma I first discovered that they were robots.
That Megaman Legends made me think that all Megamans where guys in robot suits. Oh well, Megaman X5 was amusing.
Megaman X6 Play Station Game Review
There is a funny story about Megaman X6. I really do not know what happened. The game I bought had the audio in Japanese. The text was in English however, the character voices where in Japanese.
This time the enemy is not Sigma. There was this man called Gates. He found a piece of Zero and used it to create the Zero nightmare. I forget what was his purpose. I think he was spiteful that all his robots where slain and declared Mavericks. He used Zero's identity to blame him for his virus.
This obviously bothered X a lot. He did not like the defamation of Zero's name. Interesting enough, X begins the first day of the game by dreaming of Zero. I imagine that it has to do with the Zero virus.
Regardless, in this game there are hidden places in all worlds. When you find them the first time, you get to fight the Zero Nightmare Zero. After you defeat him, the real guy shows up. He tells X a lie about fixing himself. The truth of the matter is that he woke up in one piece.
There is like this random Reploid who is obsessed about Zero. We never saw how he died. They just found him dead. Dinamo appears from time to time after you defeat the Zero Nightmare Zero.
He only shows up in the hidden areas. I like the worlds here the best. They are quite original. They get weirder when the Zero Nightmare is acting up. It changes the world around quite a bit. Some of the areas become unavailable under the Zero Nightmare.
The hardest world is the scrap yard. The armors here are pretty interesting. The one that is immune to spikes is really cool. The armor makes X look like a cool ninja. It is also the only anti spike armor that is actually useful. X also fights with stars and with the Zero blade. He jumps really high and gets to stick to the walls.
I liked that form best. In the end, you get a code for the Ultimate Armor. Its powers are really Ultimate. The final boss is negligible. What is interesting is the final Japanese song.
If you win with Zero, he goes to take a dirt nap. With X, X refuses to slay Gates. He takes him back home for Alia. Alia used to work with Gates. Thus, she felt very strongly about the whole Gates problem.
I think that is everything worth mentioning. The movies are triggered at Random. The Alia Gates flashback I only saw it once. Truly, Megaman X 6 was a well-crafted game.
Megaman X8 Play Station Game Review
Megaman X 8 is the last Megaman game I played. This game was for the play Station 2. I skipped a game and I missed how Poochy got into the mix. That Axl is such a pain. He does fight peachy and can turn to other weirdoes. However, he can never match the coolness of X and Zero.
Zero here gets some funny weapons. I only remember the two I mostly used. There was the Sigma Sword and the Fans that made him look like a chick. The begining is hilarious. Lumine and his excorts had an accident at an elevator.
To survive the fall they turned into Sigma. X had no idea that the new Generation Reploids where using the Sigma DNA. When he first saw them, he did not know what to make of it. Think about it, he had his hands full with one Sigma, but an army of Sigmas is a whole new ball game.
Ideally, these new Reploids are supposed to never go Maverick. They are immune to all viruses. However, in the end we discover that they can go rogue if the feel like it.
They became so human like that they have absolute free will. We find out about this when X, Zero and Axl rescue Lumine. It turns out that Lumine did not want to be rescue.
He was using Sigma and the others who had taken him. Thus, he is the final boss. This final battle was pretty interesting. The armors are not half bad. Overall, the game is pretty hard. I only won it trice. I got bored of it when I bought my Xbox 360.
Megaman Zero 1, 2, and 3 Game Review
The Megaman Zero games are pretty weird. Basically, Zero has awaken from his dirt nap. While he was away, X's clone began killing all the Reploids. It's all due to an energy shortage.
Perhaps, the new government got tired of dealing with so many Mavericks. Now, Zero is acting as a Maverick to protect his friends. The final boss is always X. In these games, they introduce some random fairies.
One of them kinda reminds me of Iris's ghost. Overall, the gameplay is really fun. I would write more; however, I want to wrap things up for today.
I think I played once Megaman NT warriors. However, it was not too memorable. I liked its anime series the best.
