The unfinished swan game Review

The unfinished swan was a pretty cool little kid’s game. The ending kinda freaked me out. It was just too damn depressing for a kid’s game. Anyhow, the game was being given out for free in the PS4 store. I said to myself, what the hell? The game had quite the unique concept. It was about a boy whose mother had died. His mother had never finished her paintings.

She had died and had left her kid unfinished. Her boy was allowed to take one of his mother’s paintings with him. He chose the unfinished swan. One night, the swan had left the painting. He followed the swan to a strange, whitewashed world. The rest of the game involved the kid following after the swan. He also discovered more about this mysterious world.

You get around by throwing paint. The paint droplets help you define the world around you. In one area, everything is dark. The spiders attacked you outside the night light. The control makes sounds whenever they strike at you. It was a pretty freaky effect if I do say so myself. In any case, I recommend the game. It’s a nice change of pace from Bloodborne.

Tokyo Jungle game Review

I found this game in the Playstation Now Subscription catalog. The game’s storyline was kinda weird. One day, the animals went wild. The storyline gets unlocked as you play with animals. You must survive in the jungle that Tokyo has become. The only traces of humanity are the buildings they left behind.

The first animals offered to you are the Silka deer and the Pomerania. Both are at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to their respective skills. The entire game focuses on survival of the fittest. You have to survive long enough to pass your good genes to the next generation.

For some reason, the game made me rather hungry. My Bambi was always starving. Recently, I made it pretty far as a pig. Things went downhill when Jurassic Park occurred. On top of everything, there was Richard Parker. He was in all the easy parts of the city. The game is pretty addictive.

Final Fantasy X Remake Game Review

The remake of this game was pretty good. It got all the graphics enhanced. The game also got new fancy music and a new sphere level up system. It did not seem too humoring. It was best to stick with the classic level up system. Aside from a new look, this game got the dark eons added into it.

The worst of the lot was Yojimbo. It’s impossible to lay a finger on him. He also has ridiculous strength and defense. It’s rare to be able to summon a second eon against him. The problem was that he had to be slain 3 or 4 times in a row. The other Dark Eons were mostly slain with Yojimbo.

If he gets paid enough, he becomes quite the useful eons. He does his overdrive often as long as you pay him 3000 or 10000 during regular fights. As for his overdrive, he requires 300,000 gil. He also needs to get called only when the opponent is strong. Doing so assures that Yojimbo slays that stands before him.

These are just about all the surface changes on this game. This game also includes the Eternal Calm. It was a mini movie which was the link between Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. The Eternal Calm had originally only been released in the Japanese version.

Aside from Final Fantasy X-2, this remake includes the Last Mission. The Last Mission was another Final Fantasy game that was only released in Japan and for good reason. It had a half-backed kind of look. Plus, the characters moved kind of weird. Most of the battle trophies are for Final Fantasy X.

It seems Square Enix assumed that the players would only take Final Fantasy X seriously. In any case, it was quite the enjoyable game. It is a real pity Square Enix does not make games like this one anymore. It would be interesting to see a decent remake of Final Fantasy XI. That was a pretty cool Final Fantasy game.

Megaman Series Game Reviews

It has been quite some time since I played an old megaman game. The first one I played was Megaman 6 or was it five. Anyhow, the cut scenes were actually drawn anime style. It was pretty neat. I wonder why they ever stopped doing that?

For those unfamiliar with the series, the game is about a robot named Rock Man. He was renamed Megaman for the English translation. He was called Rock because of the music genre. His partner was a girl named Roll.

Dr. Light had made them in pairs because his first Prototype had escaped. Overtime, Dr. Light made more robots. In a fit of jealousy, his colleague Dr. Willy set about a diabolical plan to reprogram Dr. Light’s robots and use them to take over the world.

For the entire Megaman series, Rock man is trying to defeat Dr. Willy’s creations. The game supposedly ends, when Zero comes into the picture and kills the original Megaman, who is later replaced by X. Then again, this is just a working theory.

For all purposes, Megaman X is just a cooler, more mature version of Megaman, for older gamers. Megaman has obtained many faces throughout its career. He even had his own anime show, that later became a Gameboy game. I think it was called Megaman NT warriors. It was actually pretty watchable.

All in all, the old megaman games were legit. They were pretty fun and some areas quite hard. In one game, his doggie turned into flying powers. Whatever happened to his pooch? Ideally, Megaman was a standalone original creation. However, the character reminds me a bit of Astro Boy. Both had a creepy professor and a little girlfriend.

As for the dog, he is a reference to Casshern. Like Megaman, he is out to defeat evil robots. He also has a doggie sidekick who helps him in battle by transforming into things. Casshern originally came out in 1973. On the meantime, Megaman debuted in 1987. There are more similarities; however, I will discuss them in the Megaman X blog.

Megaman X Gaming Series Review

Megaman X was a pretty cool gaming series. I first started playing the game with Megaman X5. My played it once in my cousin’s house. After playing it once, I was addicted to the game. I later on bought my own copy.

Anyhow, the game was about X and Zero trying to stop the Sigma virus. The Sigma Virus was so strong that it was even driving humans insane. The plot of it had a certain degree of urgency. The game also had multiple endings, which was cool for a PS1 game.

Another great thing about the game was the rock music. Like a true Rockman game, it had great guitar for the background of the worlds. My favorite one was the midi for the first world, when played with Zero. Winning the game with Zero was almost impossible.

Instead of powers, he had attack combos, and his booster gun was laughable. Then again, Dr. Willy sorta abandoned his creation to his own fate. As for X’s backstory, he was a new model robot designed to have emotions and freewill.

Up until then, Dr. Light had had a lot of bad history with his robots. So, he hesitated to activate X. He wanted to make certain that his new model would not go evil. Before he could activate X, he was killed, possibly by Zero. There was an allusion to this in Megaman X4. The game was more about Zero, but that is beside the point.

Dr. Willy had apparently discovered the plans for X and had used it to make his own robot. His Zero was implanted with a virus designed to make all of Dr. Light’s robots go insane. X has apparently developed immunity, but the Reploids created around X went insane.

The series focuses on X and Zero trying to kill the Maverick robots. Led by Sigma, they had almost taken over the world. As for Sigma, he bears a striking resemblance to Breaking Boss. He was the main bad guy in Casshern. Like Sigma, he wanted to take over the world. Unlike Sigma, he did not use a virus. He was smart enough to just build an army.

I knew the franchise was going downhill when Poochie came into the picture. That was the name I gave to Axel, when he joined the Maverick hunters. He simply bummed me out. He made his last appearance in Megaman X8. It was the last Megaman X game of the series.

artsy sister, cute, games

Megaman Zero Game Review

Megama Zero was so well liked that he got his own spinoff. In this series, he is not a Maverick hunter. Instead, he fights to protect Mavericks. The Maverick hunters grew corrupt over the years and now they are just killing robots for the hell of it.

The leader of these robots is a clone of X. This X clone tends to stutter and even Zero can’t believe how weak he is. In X clone’s defense, by Megaman X8, X had already trashed all the Good armors. He even destroyed the falcon armor and the Fourth Armor.

The Fourth Armor was my favorite. It made X hover which was key for beating Sigma in Megaman X5. To help Zero along in his quest, he runs into these fairies. The storyline gets weird with the whole fairy or cyber elf problem. One even resembles his dearly departed, Iris.

For those that do not know, Iris was Zero’s girlfriend in Megaman X4. He ended up having to kill her because she was trying to protect her Maverick brother. Anyhow, Zero also had weapons he could fight with. In the first part of the game, Zero could explore an open world map. It was pretty original in this respect.

The other parts went back to the same old same old, which was a pity. Megaman Zero was originally developed for the Gameboy. It came with four parts. The last one was not my personal favorite, for obvious reasons. The setup for the first part actually came about in Megaman X6.

If one fails to run into Zero in Megaman X6, the bastard goes into hibernation. Megaman X6 was another one of those games with multiple endings. It is a wonder Capcom ever stopped doing these multiple endings. The Megaman Zero game also has a graphic novel.

The creator of it botched a lot of the scenes and he made Zero less of a tragic figure. All in all, nothing has ever gone right for him since he was created by Dr. Willy. In the manga, he also has a personality disorder. When he does not wear his helmet, he appears frail and weak. When he puts it on, he becomes the Zero we know and love.

Megaman Legends Game Review

Megaman Legends was one of the few megaman 3D games. It also featured an open world map with cities, shows and dungeons to explore. The later parts even took place in other countries. The game takes place in an alternate timeline too.

In this one, Megaman was found by Barrell Casket. Megaman was raised alongside Casket’s granddaughter. He wears a suit of armor to fight, but he bears all the semblance of a normal human. He can also change his gun for multiple different weapons. In the last form, he gets pretty decent lazer cannon.

His main objective is to research and rediscover lost technology. For reasons humans do not understand, the entire world is filled with ruins, guarded by reaper bots. By salvaging these robots and taking their power crystals the humans can live a pretty good life.

Megaman seems to have a connection with this lost technology. To discover the truth, he enters those ruins. From all those megaman games, this one had the most original storyline. The game was supposed to get a third part, but Capcom decided to can the project. In 2010, it almost got made for the Nintendo DS.

However, Capcom decided to work on other projects instead. The creator of the series too now is into making games, by ripping off Kickstarter, but that is another story. As far as Megaman Legends is concerned, it ended with the second part. This is a pity since this megama had pretty cool game dynamics, sadly lacking from the other Megaman games.

Megaman Battle Network Game Review

Megaman NT Warrior was based on a video game with a pretty similar game. It proved to be quite the successful Gameboy advance game. I actually played it a couple of times, but I never got around to beating it. Plus, the battle mechanics were a bit annoying.

Something good did come out of this game. The storyline was interesting enough to warrant an anime show. The anime show actually ended up having 52 episodes. That is quite the respectable runtime for an anime show.

The premise of this game is about Lan Hikari who builds a relationship with his Megaman app. Despite being friends, he uses his app to battle and solve crimes. The anime show got edited down from the original game. Also, some characters got completed name changes due to licensing issues.

The most notorious remaining was of the character Aquaman. Anyhow, Megaman was Lan’s twin brother. This was discovered near the end of the Battle Network. No mention of this interesting fact was made in the anime show.

Then again, having his dead brother saved inside a computer was pretty messed even by Japanese children standards. Around the end, some of the Megaman X people like Zero start making an appearance, which was pretty cool. Overall, Battle Network has like 6 parts. The last one came out in 2009.

Pokemon Go App Game Review

My brother recently got the pokemon Go game for his cellphone. His first starter pokemon was a charmender. He was trying it out before getting me the same game. Anyhow, I was a little annoyed that all I found in apartment complex were ratatas.

I think pokemon is trying to tell me that Hialeah is filled with rats. The other pokemon nearby were not too remotely humoring. There was a Muk inside the water treatment plant and a grimmer in the cement factory. On the upside, we did catch a slowbro. It was sitting beside my mom.

Last night, a dratini flew by for like a second, but we missed it. I am still kicking my brother’s pokeballs for it. It seems like all the good ones we are going to have to chase after them. Other people have been finding pokemon in quirky places.

Some kids found a dead body while chasing after one. Others were killed because of their cellphones in a bad neighborhood. It is funny and a little sad because I had predicted this would happen, since the game was first announced. Sure, it is an interesting concept, but the world out there is dangerous.

One guy also caused a major car accident when he was driving. He saw a Pikachu and stopped suddenly to catch it. Little did he know there was a massive truck behind him. All trucks have to break slow or risk messing up their cargo. The list of examples goes on.

Now, back to Pokemon; the nearest gym leader for our little city is located in Lago Grande. I wonder if it will be the water gym leader. The place is just a gated apartment complex with a single lake. With any luck, the gym leader will use anything other than ratatas.

I am still trying to figure out how to do wonder trade and regular trade. I guess it has not been unlocked yet. One of my friends had an eevee infestation, and she wants to trade for one of my many ratatas. A side effect of this game is that.
